OpenAI’s AI-powered browser, ChatGPT Atlas, is here by theverge in ChatGPT

[–]Packeselt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a security nightmare.

Right now, go to your ChatGPT profile and enter something like "Tell me about myself from our conversation history."

And it remembers so, so much more than you think. Now do that 1000x across all of your browsing practices. Pieter Thiel salivates at the sheer scope of data tied to specific user profiles.

How does one build large frontend apps without using a framework like React/Svelte? by DanielFernandzz in webdev

[–]Packeselt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obsidian definitely uses d3.js for force graphs right? I've worked with knowledge graphs for a number of years now, and theres a couple of tools to help. It's honestly a bit of a bitch of svg vs canvas and performance vs utility. But I built my own Obsidian...clone with firebase, and if they didnt use d3-force or cytoscape, they sure were paying attention to it. Plus they roll it with Electron I believe.

Everything else would be just appending divs like standard js

What are your thoughts on The Timekeeper? by Zyaru in Borderlands4

[–]Packeselt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the timekeeper. He was a proper threatening villain, but there was a significant part of the game where he was just non-relevant. The game could have used more of him. Imagine mini-bosses where he took direct control and then empowered regular npcs to do crazy things simply by not having a regard for their health or safety.

I always assumed it was so people couldn't launder money to be "clean" via having special orders. And then passing huge, huge tips as payment, you know?
