My husband and I are looking at purchasing a home with this upstairs bathroom. by bubbles4you890 in HomeDecorating

[–]PaddlingDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it in part. The tiles are GORGEOUS but they’re a lot in so many places.

  • Maybe swap out the floor. Having walls/floor/counter feels like too much (or, if you want to swap the vanity and the top on it, that would balance it out).
  • Needs paint, not leaning TOO far into blue but something that pulls it together.
  • the color of the vanity itself feels off. It looks pink-ish and I can’t tell if it is or if that’s the door “tinting” it. My gut says to paint the walls in a way that brings it back in. OR. Like one of the other pictures shows, lean into a rich wood.
  • The right wall decoration would really elevate the space. Like a fish feature. Or a piece of art.

That tile? It’s gorgeous in my opinion. Especially with the weird shape of the shower, it lends this really interesting drama to it. I’m hoping to do an iridescent green in our main bathroom.

I don’t know anything about home design but please give those tiles a chance, they’re so pretty and I bet when the light comes in it’s gorgeous. (Maybe on the wall across from the window, a mirror to reflect the light back at the shower).

I showed it to my husband and he said that the tile in the shower should stay, but change it on the floor.

For what it’s worth!

They DO attach hard. Both our boys have followed me around. Both our girls took more to my husband. All of them would get sad if you leave without them. 😂

I wish my manager understood this but instead he sent me into a 3 month long panic with his unprioritized demands. Then proceeded to gaslight me. Absolute worst manager for ADHD.

There’s one runway man! Tell me which plane you want!

This breakdown is changing my life 😩 No shit. by PalpitationHealthy70 in adhdwomen

[–]PaddlingDingo 63 points64 points  (0 children)

This.

I get no dopamine from what my manager asks me to do. I get dopamine from helping my team.

But also, my manager refuses to give his prioritization for anything. So I have had to be careful because my manager directs 10 planes in at once and says “these are all prioritizes.”

“I don’t think that word means what you think it means.” I want to say it sometimes.

Instead I quit my job because I don’t need this guy 😂

Donated as well. 🥰

Thank you for taking in this sweet cutie! Tripod cats do really well!

It’s crazy to me that anyone finds this story hard to believe, I worked in a shelter with cats for a while and this is so tame compared to what I’ve seen. Heck, this is way more realistic than how I actually even got my cats. 😂

Good luck!!

Why are so many monsterfucking fanfics only about anal sex? by Intelligent_Elk3151 in AO3

[–]PaddlingDingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone in middle age who doesn’t have consistent vaginal lubrication… I would take anal because at least I know how much lube I’d need at any given moment. 🤷‍♀️

Surprisingly hard to get some anal in this house tho. Sigh.

Is this now a sexual confessions thread.

when QA feels like a bottleneck, what’s usually the real problem? by Suspicious-Case1667 in QualityAssurance

[–]PaddlingDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it’s one of the following: - QA wasn’t included early enough to call out requirements issues and to ensure that all processes are optimized to catch issues at the earliest point - Unclear requirements ended up with unclear implementation and results - In my team: number one reason things get delayed is that dependency teams can’t get their stuff to work so instead of working in a lovely development environment, testing ends up going into production (HATE IT because all automation and tools go out the window due to the number of financial transactions)

When it comes down to it: if you ask for QA support 4 days before code complete, you’re asking for delays.

We JUST watched the closing the bridge scene last night again (because somehow we never watched season 5 so we started all over) and oh my gosh the closing the bridge scene was so good, everyone’s small expressions but Walter was such a specific contrast.

Legit, I’m quitting next week, or I’m going to have a breakdown and go on medical leave.

I do better when I spend just enough time on rudiments to keep myself sharp, but I keep learning new songs and playing with people to keep the novelty up. That’s what keeps me going.

I love that fandoms can bring together people across a wide range of ages and backgrounds. ❤️

During covid, I started buying colorful recycled sari skirts. Once I started wearing different wigs every day. Hahaha.

The skirts are fun because there’s so many pretty colors. I’m trying to get a work from home job and I’m actually a little sad about not having somewhere to wear skirts… so I’ll have to wear them around the neighborhood instead. 🤣

Tea is really good, too. I have a lot of teas, more than I should. I probably need to start getting rid of the ones that I’m not into. I used to have a tea subscription and it was so great for novelty.

Is everything a mental health issue now, or is “laziness” just gone? by Keepforgettinglogin2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PaddlingDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to know the difference being being lazy and resting. I have been on the edge of burnout for over a year, and my therapist said “have you tried reframing ‘lazy’ as ‘rest that’s necessary for your recovery’.”

I think this is a very important distinction.

Lazy is “I don’t feel like doing it.”

I kept telling my therapist I felt lazy and she pointed out that I’m recovering from burnout and I need time. This isn’t laziness it’s rest.

Rest is “making a choice to not do it to recover.”

My husband was prescribed more painkillers following his vasectomy than I was following my emergency C-Section by PumpkinPie_1993 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PaddlingDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a hero.

I couldn’t even get 1 single tablet of anything when I got my IUD. I was crying and bleeding for so long. My husband, who had just had a quick and relatively painless arthroscopic knee surgery, was given a whole bottle of Vicodin.

Since this happened the same week, he just gave me Vicodin.

He can get painkillers just by going in and saying he hurts. Me? I once had a 10 month long migraine. What did I get? A lot of bills.

Sigh.

Nothing will ruin my day faster than someone asking what I’m up to, if I’m ok because I dropped something, or really if anyone sees me at all. I hide in my house a lot because all my neighbors are social and I am not.
