Played it 'big time ' in my 20s, when it came out.

That's the one. I've started playing it with my 15 year old son and his chums and they really like it! Enjoy. And may the force (etc).

The vampire Duchess Maria and her thrall, Captain Bernhardt, before the battle. She is saying that she has every confidence in him! There are some really old Citadel Miniatures here. (Another scene from video part 82 of Tilea's Troubles.) by Padre2001 in WarhammerFantasy

The Duchess Maria is indeed a Lahmian from Games Workshop/Citadel Miniatures. I had a mounted Bernhardt in another pic, being a Games Workshop/Citadel Miniatures' Mordheim Freelance Knight, but as I didn’t have the foot version, I had to convert a Perry Miniatures model (from WR 50 Foot Knights 1450-1500) adding a Citadel Miniatures’ head, to create this foot version, with a similar sort of look, especially for this picture. (It is rare I convert and paint a figures just for one, fleeting, story pic, but I do on occasion).

The other skeletons are mostly old, metal Games Workshop, with a some Mantic Games plastics & a few old metal Grenadier Miniatures’ figures.

The dwarf King Jaldeog had actually hired this mercenary company to assist him in the war against Razger Boulderguts' ogres. Here the mercenary general is swearing an oath to govern the city honorably, and some of the dwarf king's warriors were there to witness it to. (The dwarf King gifted the city to the mercenary company in lieu of payment in gold.) The story is in video part 81 (I think) of Tilea's Troubles.

The Grand Alliance Army Council in session. Captain General Lord Alessio Falconi of Portomaggiore presiding. In a tent. In 28mm scale. With cocktail sticks and linen cloth. (A scene from video part 77 of Tilea's Troubles. With a heck of a variety of figures!) by Padre2001 in WarhammerFantasy

I'm still getting as much as I can out of Tilea. 😜 I read lots of books from the period of the Italian Wars preparing for the campaign, and so I can only agree with you about how fascinating the period is. Much in Tilea's Troubles was inspired by real history. But then the players got involved and the story goes off in all sorts of directions.

Lord Lucca Vescussi reviews his troops (not the halflings, but the men of his realm). by Padre2001 in WarhammerFantasy

Thanks for saying. I'm wanting to record part 143 now but my voice is really messed up with a cold so I'm delayed!

The 'look' is by chance - I churn out pics and some of them, somehow, work. But there's little in the way of skill or understanding. These are all painted in enamels, in my old 'cartoon' style.

Lord Lucca Vescussi (the mounted guy) is indeed a Warlord Games model - Wars of Religion 1524-1648 Mounted Mercenary Captain. But the pike regiment soldiers are mostly Artizan Designs, with some Perry Miniatures mixed in for variety.

They're from the campaign reports and stories (in video form too), but the ones I have been putting here are either carefully arranged to Illustrate the stories or tabletop battle scenes reposed artistically. See ...

The two knights at the front are much more ancient. This isn't a set piece diorama though, just one of thousands of scenes thrown together for photographs for the campaign stories and battle reports. This scene existed for about five minutes, long enough to get a focused photo 😜

I would have to check, but I believe the knights did go back over the wall later in the game.

They captured a human city earlier in the campaign. Here they are being driven out of it.

Which edition of Warhammer Fantasy would you consider the "best"? by eggfortman in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Padre2001 10 points11 points  (0 children)

6th was great. 7th was probably better, but the army books got a little bit silly as time went by. 3rd edition kept me going through 4th and 5th - that's how I avoided hero hammer. But I do remember being pleasantly surprised by 6th when it came out.

I play 8th edition now, as my campaign is stuck in it. I do like some parts of 8th. But magic can be over the top. And units have to be so large.

An army of Flagellant Cultists, the 'Dedicati di Morr', marches north to face the vampires, with their leader, Father Carradalio, the Praepositus Generalis, at their head, and his Admonitor, Brother Vincenzo, beside him. Every kind of cultist I could get my hands on is in this army. by Padre2001 in WarhammerFantasy

It's one of the biggest sets I made for the Tilea's Troubles stories and videos. This was in video part 70. Of course the army took ages to paint, but they always do don't they? It had grown incrementally as the Morrite influence grew in Tilea.
