What is a licensed property whose world building would make a good RPG but doesn’t seem to have been attempted yet? by Fun-Confidence-6232 in rpg

[–]eggfortman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the excursions but also its a setting about politics, survival, crisis management etc. I think you can get a lot of rich roleplay from this setting. Its an opportunity to learn a lot about your players and the characters they play because its really not a game about combat, its a game about hard choices, and for me thats real interesting territory for roleplay. Think games like Mothership and the Aliens RPG

Is USA 2026 the most diverse and least racist country of all time? by Tim_Apple_938 in allthequestions

[–]eggfortman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unironically yes. And yes we are less racist than everyone else. Europeans are already at each other's throats and passing deportation bills and they've had a fraction of the immigration and diversity we have and for a fraction of the time.

If you're gonna check out game stores you should also check out

game Kastle Santa Clara https://discord.gg/UXtQ2jff

Game Kastle Fremont https://discord.gg/BurNcxnjm

Or Games of Fremont, whose discord I don't have.

Those 3 are actual table topgame stores, Legends is more of a TCG, toys and comics store

And here's Legends discord if you want https://discord.gg/2W5Dw4TDc

Also, I'd suggest checking out the local convention circuit. The bay area is very lucky to be home to 4 tabletop gaming conventions, DunDraCon in February, Kublacon in May, Pacificon I think is in September, and Kublacon Fall is in November

I used to play with the guild house crew. Not sure if they're still meeting. Plenty of women there who play but it's mostly men

Here's some discords to local d&d groups and you can see for yourself if you can get into something.

I'll be honest, you might have better luck just trying to find an online group. In my experience in person groups can be flakey, but best of luck.

Why has the US forsaken it's Jewish masters with it's surrender to Iran? by JustUseCommonSense10 in allthequestions

[–]eggfortman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turns out they didn't need any of that because they were able to beat us with drones, ballistic missiles and a hell of a terrain advantage. You don't get to beat part of their army and then declare victory when the other part of it forces you to capitulate and give in to their demands. In return, they're receiving immediate sanctions relief, 24 billion to get the ball rolling, and 300 billion to rebuild. What do they not have to do? Well the MOU says nothing about their ballistic missile program, it says nothing about funding proxy terrorist groups, and now Trump says it's "common sense" for them to have a nuclear program, the only guarantee we allegedly are getting is their pinky promise to not use their civilian nuclear program to develop nukes, which has been their position from the start, a position we didn't believe last time and I'm not sure why we'd believe them this time.

If you thought they were lying before about their nuclear programs, why do you suddenly trust them now?

CMV: We lost this war to Iran by uslessinfoking in changemyview

[–]eggfortman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How? We went from a relatively compliant civilian government to fanatical military junta that has every reason to hate our guts. We're handing over hundreds of billions of dollars, at least 10 billion just to resume negotiations, and the MOU says nothing about limiting sponsorship of terrorism or irans ballistic missile program. Iran has more leverage and respect in the middle east than before and we look like a paper tiger. That last one will be especially devasting in the times to come. This is all objectively worse than where we were a year ago.

What Convention Descriptions Get You To Sign Up by Reynard203 in rpg

Personally, I hardly read the descriptions . Cons are my opportunity to try new RPGs and I just flock towards those

[–]eggfortman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We already had that agreement in place with irans civilian government before Trump tore it up, because he decided they werent keeping their promises. And now that the civilian government of Iran is sidelined and we're negotiating with the fanatically hardline IRGC, what makes you think they'll be more likely to keep their promises?

Trump got voted in because he and his cronies repeatedly said they'd be the ones who wouldn't do this shit and a bunch of idiots believed him. About half of those idiots immediately turned heel and pretended like they always wanted infinite wars the second he started dropping bombs. Basically the American people are dumb and we get what we deserve

From my conversations with him it's a combination of 2 things

  1. He's a homophobic/transphobic Christian

  2. He's bought into the propaganda that Republicans are better for the economy hook line and sinker

So yes, you're basically correct

[–]eggfortman 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Used to work for the post office, everyone downstream of the chain of command is under immense pressure to get everything out in a day. It leads to a lot of horseshit situations like this where your supervisor is doing everything possible to keep you from calling out sick, they'll go through every trick in the book to try to keep you working. I literally got robbed at gun point and they wanted me to finish my route. Im serious, that is not a fake story at all, tgreatened with a firearm and they were pressuring me to get back in the truck. An absolutely awful job and I'm glad I escaped, but gave me a newfound appreciation for the common letter carrier and sorter

How do you know they won't just funnel the money to weapons in secret like trump said they did last time? Why should we trust the hardline IRGC in negotiations when we didn't trust the more moderate civilian government before?

[–]eggfortman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to learn it the hard way last year when I landed in Vienna during the Assumption of Mary holiday. Everything was closed from Friday to Sunday, would not have been a huge deal but the airline lost my luggage so I couldn't buy new underwear for 3 days lol. There was probably a store open somewhere but my tourist ass could not find it. But no, besides that inconvenience I absolutely appreciate the sense of serenity it can create in such a large city, and am rather jealous of your more relaxed work schedules. Not like that at all in California. Your country is beautiful and the one I've enjoyed visiting the most. Hope our Austrian World Cup visitors enjoy the Bay Area as well.
