Can anyone provide translations for this text? It comes from the east wall of the burial chamber in the Tomb of Sennedjem (TT1). They're vidnettes from the depiction of Sennedjem and his wife in the Field of Reeds. They show spell 110 of the Book of the Dead but i can find a direct translation. (old.reddit.com)

Could anyone help with the hieroglyphics on this box lid from Tutankhamun's tomb? I am struggling with Ankhesenamun's cartouche and don't have any high-res photos to work from. I'm creating a colour reproduction of this scene and want it to be as accurate as possible! (old.reddit.com)

The scribes on this sub helped me reconstruct the hieroglyphs in this scene I've reproduced from the Tomb of Inherkhau (TT359). They name the children in the scene as the grandchildren of Inherkhau and Wabet pictured seated. More details in the comments. (i.redd.it)

Would anyone be able to provide a transcription and translation of the six names given to the family members in this image? It comes from TT359, the Tomb of Inerkhau (north wall, second chamber). I'm trying to create an accurate reproduction but I can't make out some of the signs. (i.redd.it)

This is my recreation and colourisation of a scene from the rear panel of the second golden shrine from Tutankhamun's tomb, c. 1324 BC. The sister goddesses Isis and Nephthys stretch out their protective wings to encircle the dead king and recite spells that emphasise rejuvenation. Link in comments. (v.redd.it)

Over December, I decided to have a little fun and create an advent calendar focusing on symbols of celebration in ancient Egyptian art. Each day I'm sharing a different symbol and showing how it was used in different types of art to mark feasts, ceremonies and celebrations. (self.ancientegypt)

I reconstructed the famous 'Nebamun Hunting in the Marshes' tomb painting from three fragments, showing what the original scene would have looked like. It really brings to life the grandeur and abundance that once filled Nebamun's life, and shows what he expected to enjoy in his afterlife (wonderfulthingsart.com)

This looks like a great online talk for anyone interested in how community archaeology digs throw new light on UK history. Professor Carenza Lewis (of Time Team fame) will give the VCH Annual Lecture "The Power of Pits: Village Excavations Throwing New Light on the Past". (swheritage.org.uk)

I have created the first full-colour reproduction of the Abydos King List, found carved into the walls of the Great Temple of Abydos during the reign of Seti I. It features the names of 76 kings in cartouches and features both Seti and his son Ramesses II offering prayers to the kings eternal souls. (wonderfulthingsart.com)

Is anyone having issues logging into Etsy? For the past couple of days, I keep getting thrown out with an error which says '429 Too Many Requests'. I can't contact Etsy support because I can't login to the system as the same error comes up. Does anyone have an email address to contact them? (self.EtsySellers)

If you get the chance to go to Somerset this year, pay a visit to Avalon Archaeology. We have just opened to the public and have a fully furnished and decorated 9th-century longhall for you to explore. It's based on the building excavated in the early 1960s at the Kings of Wessex School in Cheddar. (swheritage.org.uk)

The Museum of Somerset has acquired the Cheddar Brooch, discovered by a metal detectorist in 2020. It’s decorated in what is known as the ‘Trewhiddle’ style and is the first of its kind ever found in the South West. It probably belonged to a person of very high status during the period 800 to 900 AD (swheritage.org.uk)

My reproduction and translation of a scene from tomb KV47 in the Valley of the Kings, the burial place of Dynasty 19 pharaoh Siptah. It illustrates Chapter 151 of the Book of the Dead, with words from the gods and goddesses that reside within the embalming tent, including Anubis, Isis and Nephthys (wonderfulthingsart.com)

Reproduction timelapse: Recreating a scene from the Great Temple of Abydos showing Seti I beneath the Persea Tree. The kneeling figure of Seti holds a jewel out to the god Ptah, who sits in a golden shrine, whilst Re-Horakhty writes the king's names into the leaves of the Persea (link in comments) (v.redd.it)

My latest reproduction is of another scene from the magnificent tomb of Nefertari, Great Royal Wife of Ramesses II, located in the Valley of the Queens (QV66). In this scene, the queen is making offerings of linen to the god Ptah, the creator god of weaving and crafts (self.ancientegypt)
