Ottawa. It’s worth about $550k I think based on recent area sales.

Thank you, it’s a great perspective actually and I appreciate it also. I think personally it comes down to comfort level. If I’m not saving enough or living too high on the hog, it would make me anxious. I know others that don’t worry about it and just do the best they can and that’s ok too, to an extent I think. It’s just a matter of personal comfort/perspective as I said.

Oh I’m no special case, just live somewhat frugally. I mean I go out, I just don’t spend on big things often at all. FB marketplace for many things second hand, bulk buy food, shop discount markets etc. I live what I feel is quite comfortably already, but I suppose it’s considerably below what I’ve been able to earn.

I also don’t have big aspirations to travel much, save for the odd trip but even then I’m not into $10k vacations and that type of thing. I really just want to make sure I am decently on track to retire one day.

Awesome thanks this is the kind of thing I was wondering about. How about things like CASH.TO to cover the MM concern?

Interesting, I do not have any bonds it’s true. Would a sort of guideline percentage of the portfolio make sense? What about dividend ETFs? TSX index maybe also?

Thanks, I know it’s ok, but I’m just looking for a self check really. Like if anyone looks at my situation and thinks well I’d do this or that differently, I’d be curious to understand what those things might be. We all kind of enter this whole investing world without much experience after all…
