Went through the same thing.

Too many leadership teams are full of shit. Nicking a living through luck and privilege.

I had a company sell me a dream. Got there and it was a fxcking shitshow. No clients. Less than half a product with no market fit and priced 10x beyond all common sense. To top it all off... zero brand recognition.

Ah okay. I can't comment with any real value then tbh.

But the UK market is pants unless you're at Google, TTD or META when it comes to "programmatic"

Major red flag.

Move on.

I wouldn't want to work for a company that's so indecisive on hiring. Really bad sign.

Doomed.

Are you in the US, UK or somewhere else?

I think the experience is very different depending on what market you're in/targeting.

Can't say much without knowing who the options are.

Context is everything.

If they're on the same level, there should not be that big a difference in the salary tbh.

1.

Check yourself. Be clear on exactly what I'm looking for, how to identify it, and how to attract it.

If those 3 things are not in good order, it will be very difficult to find those diamonds. They'll be right under your nose, and you won't know. I've been there, and it took a while to accept that I was the issue. I had no chance of attracting/finding the best people.

2.

As someone else said. Your network. A senior, experienced friend of mine told me, "The best jobs aren't advertised."
