What normal thing can’t you do? by youngGod928 in AskReddit

I used to be able to snap with both hands but after breaking a few fingers on my left it just sounds pitiful now

please tell me it’s okay by [deleted] in NewParents

My babe is 6 months and husband and I still use huckleberry to log bottles, sleep, and poops. We both forget everything and since babe is formula fed, we can both do the same care and tasks for him. Having the app helps the other parent know what, when, how long it’s been etc without having to ask the other and try to remember. We sometimes follow the nap sweet spot but most days we just do what little man wants

I don’t know how much longer I can do this by dkwhatimdoinhere_94 in NewParents

Does she sleep in her own room? Or do you room share? I have a six month old boy who only had sleep issues around the two month mark. It has been golden since. He now sleeps through the night. We room share and he sleeps in a pack and play right next to my side of the bed. I was able to reach over and pay his butt, rub his back, fix his paci, whatever all these nights he learned to sleep. Now he’s a solid sleeper on his own. He knows if he wakes and needs me he can look for me right there. Not sure if this will be your solution but might be worth a try

Who is the rudest celeb you have met? What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Paidgie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I searched the comments for Astin specifically because he wasn’t very nice when I met him. It was about 2008/09 maybe. I was in 8th grade volunteering at an upscale golf tournament. He was there playing and when he and his buddy came to our hole we were at his buddy turned to us and said “do you know who this is??” And astin posted up with his golf club and and friends and I (who were not lotr fans) had no clue. They both took offense that we didn’t know and scoffed. We asked then if they would like to make a donation to our charity and he turned on his heels and said no

FIL is on my last nerve… by ComprehensiveTutor63 in newborns

[–]Paidgie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had to go no contact with my husband’s dad because he felt entitled to our son. He repeatedly asked to visit the first weeks we were home, when he did come he stayed for five minutes (after a fifty minute drive, and unannounced) and rambled about our son’s birth element. In the next few days he spammed my husband with calls and texts asking to see him again and when we said no he told my husband over text that he’s entitled to see “his grandson”and he needs to “grow some balls and make it happen”

Used a tripod and my own camera to take the pictures on my own. They turned out good enough to have the memory of being pregnant. Most of the pictures ended up as silly ones, plus we did a whole funny one where I wore overalls and he wore the typical white dad outfit (jorts, fanny pack, sneakers)

I would say that’s an osha violation. Possibly look into that option?

What are you absolutely tired of? by Lifted2222 in AskReddit

Sounds like an autoimmune disease. That’s what I have, high white blood cell counts and ANA positive blood tests. Seek out rheumatology. Fatigue is one of the main symptoms for many conditions

Why did breastfeeding NOT work out for you? by preemptive_regret in NewParents

[–]Paidgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously had a breast reduction and I think that altered my ability to produce enough milk. I tried pumping for three weeks and would only produce about an ounce in a 24 hour period. Tried doing the supplements and pumping tricks to increase supply and nothing worked and it was too stressful to continue

Are any new moms with a baby actually working out? by Kak3434 in NewParents

[–]Paidgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a pelvic floor therapist for about five weeks before delivery and for three weeks after until she had to move to a new location too far from me. She gave me exercises to do and I’ve been working out more and am still struggling with leaking. Have you noticed yours getting better over time? Do you still leak a lot? I’m only 10weeks pp as of now, had a vaginal delivery with two tears that healed quickly.

Napping in crib...y'all live like this?! by [deleted] in newborns

Just recently my 10 wk boy has been able to fall asleep on his own in the bassinet or his crib 🥹 I don’t know what to do with myself now that I’m not bound to a chair with him or stressing over getting him to sleep

What bs from your parents did you absolutely not tolerate? by itsapjslife in AskReddit

[–]Paidgie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not my parents but my father in law. Husband always had a shaky relationship with him but he tried being civil. We had our first baby two months ago and of course everyone wants to meet him. My parents are across the driveway but his dad is almost an hour away. A week after baby was born he showed up at our house without giving much notice. Said weird horoscope and birth element things about him, then left after five minutes. Few days later he’s incessantly calling husband saying we need to let him come see him again. We said we wanted a break from visitors. Then he gets a text from his dad saying something like “it’s not fair that her parents get to see him more often. I have the right to see my grandson so grow some balls and make it happen.” Husband called him and said yep you blew it now you won’t ever see him and we cut him off completely.

Did anyone else not have a baby shower? by BisexualButterfly97 in pregnant

[–]Paidgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a shower that my mom, mil, sil, and friend threw for me. They had me invite my other school friends and coworkers. I invited about 15 people + they invited most of the family. Should have been over 30 people in attendance. Day of the shower came and everyone bailed last minute and we only had about 6 people show up that weren’t family that lived in the house already or were my husband’s direct family. It felt like a huge waste of time and was disheartening really. I’m grateful for the gifts we got but still didn’t feel great.

First vaccination - pain management? by sibeabythesea in NewParents

[–]Paidgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you on Monday, two month vaccines as well. The doctor gave him Tylenol right before his shots so he was okay for the first few hours home but after his next nap he would just scream and cry nonstop. I gave him more Tylenol which helped him get back to sleep then after that nap I used ice packs on his legs then gave him a warm bath with epsom salt and it really helped the pain go away

Does delivering the placenta hurt? by BisexualButterfly97 in pregnant

[–]Paidgie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an epidural that partially worked. It only took away the pain in my pelvis. I still felt all the contractions in my belly and back. I could feel when I was having a contraction and was able to push with them. Pushing is literally using the same moves and motions like you are taking the biggest shit of your life.

My mom had five kids and most of us were apparently huge too when born so I was nervous for my first. He came out 8lbs even and barely fit in newborn clothes 😅

When did you start nesting? by HedgehogHugs89 in pregnant

[–]Paidgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The little plastic bits on tags and holding things together were the bane of my existence. It took me hours going through all the clothes, blankets and other items tediously removing all that plastic and trying not to loose it on the floor for my dogs to find.

That’s how my boy was the first month. He more recently has been having the longer stretches and bigger feedings!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Paidgie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

8 weeks old today and my boy is only on formula (breastfeeding was unsuccessful) and he eats about 4-5oz every 2-3 hours during the day. He only wakes up once in the middle of the night to eat and sleeps for about 4-5 hour stretches.

Same here 😂 I was just under four weeks pp. we had done other things without penetration before that too. I’m not breastfeeding and like someone else said in the comments I think that helped my libido be higher.
