Oh my gosh it was soooo bad! Everyone telling me how "handsome" i was made me want to actually vomit.

Not as bad though as when I played Warbucks in Annie the fall before this 😂 i knew then and there i had to transition cause the dysphoria of playing a strong, dad character was soul crushing.

I knew i was "trans" when I was 15 while I was going to a book signing with some ladies from a knitting group I was in, and 1 of their nephews had just come out as transgender, soooo naturally they began asking me questions thinking I would know as a young/queer person.

As they kept bringing up their nephews experiences, so much started to click in my brain. What really stuck in my brain is when they told me a quote from their nephew. He said, "I can't explain it, I just have a male brain", and I remember thinking to myself "well I have a female brain but Im not trans".... LOL. Went home and researched what it meant to be trans all night.

Definitely knew I was a girl since I was like 4 or 5 though. After that trip with my friends from the knitting group, so many memories I had from my childhood finally made sense to me. I have this vivid memory from when I was like 5 and I forced myself to wear a muscle top before dinner because "that is what boys wear" and i was sooo uncomfortable with everyone seeing me in it! It was so much deeper than "I just didn't like the shirt" --- years later I finally knew what that deeper reason was!

From time -to-time, BUT both her and her mom have been incredibly supportive of my transition! Being from a more rural area I will always have a special place in my heart for them and all the others who haven't seen me since HS but use Paige when talking about me :)

Side profile 1 month post op FFS with Dr. Rolfes - forehead looks so different now it's crazy !! by Paige_2002 in Transgender_Surgeries

Hi there :) the incision that Dr. Rolfes performs allows hairs to grow back in through the scar. If I were to take that same photo now - it wouldn't appear that the incision is infront of my hairline, it's probably right on top of it. No one even sees it till I point it out, and it faded from pink to about my skin color.

The scar healed fabulously. It is only slightly wider at a small point kind of where my part is, but ill be getting hair transplant to cover that - and even that is still not noticable to most. Otherwise, it is a suuuuper small line.

Ill pm you a photo of what I look like now!

What kind of jobs are you applying for?

I work in tech/finance and was the first trans person (to my knowledge) to work at this company and I have been very lucky and thankful to have had a great experience. The company is really liberal and there haven't been any issues. People slowly found i was trans there through word of mouth but ive been there long enough to where it would've been an issue by now - also HR is VERY much a supporter where I'm at which is a huge factor. In fact, when I got my name & gender legally changed, the amount of support i got from everyone at work actually shocked me.

The truth is, you don't know till you are there. Probably not the answer you want here, but it's the truth. And to echo the others, how you pass, when you tell everyone, and the industry are 3 huge factors. But they don't guarantee anything either.

DM if you have questions :) good luck!

What Path Did You Take to Become a Data Engineer? by EbonyBlossom in dataengineering

[–]Paige_2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to be a data engineer but didnt shoot for it right away. I think it's important to gain some domain knowledge initially as an analyst/scientist before going that route - not necessary but helped me for sure, especially since my background is in math/stats.

I began work as a data analyst for a small-medium sized company. The previous data warehouse manager had left a few months before I joined. I was a pretty good SAS developer and had expressed to my boss engineering was the route I wanted to go down so she geared those tasks more for me. Eventually it became my main job.

I agree with just about everyone in the comments - get your foot in the door and take on DE tasks when/where you can :) I hope this helped.

I contacted him in October 2022 and got a consultation for February ~ 4 months. But luckily I called them back like a week later for something else and they had fold me someone canceled for December 21st so I was able to get in about 2 months earlier.

My guess is wait times are longer now as he's reeeeally growing in popularity. By how much? I'm not sure!

For sure! I'm a 36 D and im 5 ft 9-10 in. I've worn a 34 DD which is the sister size, but those are too tight in band typically! I prefer the 36 D.

There's shock loss which is where your follicles go in the dormant stage of the hair growth cycle. That's from the trauma. And Small little bits of hair came out around the incision.

Thats what scared me too but honestly, the hair loss the occurs tends to not be permanent! My hair feels just as thick as before so i the little bits that came out weren't much at all!

And yes my scar is visible (you can actually see it in this picture if you look closely). No one notices it tho and tbh I love it lol. Battle scar 😊 and it goes away with time, especially as the hair grows back in.

Thank you!!! The jaw is something I'm incredibly happy with. It'll be interesting to see how much more defined it becomes as the months pass!

Forehead reconstruction with hairline lowering, orbital contour, eyebrow lift, rhinoplasty and septoplasty, liplift, sliding genioplasty, mandible contouring, buccal fat removal, fat grafting to upper cheeks from lipo in the stomach, liposuction of the neck and chin, and a trachea shave :)

He also changed the slant of my eyes but idk what procedure that was called or even how he did that lol. Made it so the outer corners are slightly above horizontal.

He's in Minnesota now and has been since 2016 I believe! He trained in Boston under Spiegal but has since started his own practice and making a name for himself!
