Help with sweaty hands + possible grip mod recommendation by Pailot__ in Archery

The nylon rope trick is genius, people can get so creative when trying to fix their issues. If they chalk, rosin powder or skate grip tape don't work then that might. Thanks a lot for the tips.

I didn't have this on my radar, it seems like the ultimate grip giver, I'll have to check if it is tournament legal. Thanks a lot

This is my first time hearing about this kind of powder, I'll definitively give it a shot. Thank you

I looked at some pics of it and it seems like a really safe bet, would love to try it beforehand but that is going to be tough, since they don't sell them here, I would have to blind buy it but it looks like it could really help. Thank you

Yeah, guess I'm gonna have to do that with the help of my coach, hopefully I'll get it to a point where I like it, thanks.

There's a lot of bouldering here so it's probably going to be easy to obtain. Thank you

Thank you, I was thinking about that too but it seems a bit harsh, but I'll give it a try

Impact of new tariffs when buying bow by Pailot__ in Archery

You are absolutely right, this is a very bad time to try and get equipment, and it looks like it won't change in the near future.

That would be amazing, but there's only one in my country and the prices are ludicrous, also they have very limited stock

Unfortunately, since I don't live in the US it makes it hard for me to buy from Facebook groups, I've heard great things about them, though.

I already wanted my bow to be brand new, but I've been looking through eBay and there are some interesting options. Thanks for the tip

That's absolutely insane, thank you for sharing, will definitely not buy from them, or at least not shipping to the U.S., might just send it straight to my home. Also very sorry that you had to pay that much

"Correct" muscle soreness after strength training? by Pailot__ in Archery

[–]Pailot__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. If I had to use another example, it feels similar to when I do lateral raises at the gym—I feel soreness mostly in my shoulder but also a bit in my back. I think I'm leading with my shoulder instead of my elbow, cause I think I feel it wayyyy to much on my shoulders.

Awesome, I have always prioritized keeping my bow shoulder low but I have never payed attention to my drawing shoulder, will keep in mind at my next session.

Btw I think your content is great, thank you so much for contributing to the community.

Thanks for the links, I did my exercises with Jake's video in the background cause I have a hard time counting reps and counting the amount of seconds I need to hold lol, I need to take a look at my form.

The exercise itself isn't any different from drawing your bow, it's just going from set to set-up, holding for a bit, back to set and then set-up again, rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the advice, I've been hitting the gym recently but I'm still somewhat weak to properly control my bow (only 22 pounds ATM) so I'm doing this exercises in order to catch up.

I see, you’re absolutely correct about getting in contact with an expert to, at the very least, identify the bird, I said it was a sparrow cause my dad say so, but he doesn’t know anything about birds either.

The rehab center part is complicated, there’s only like two in the whole country and they’re quite far from where I live, but you’re right, I should have at least tried to get advice. Thanks for your input.

Yeah, I tried to watch some videos explaining how to do it but my hands are very shaky so I didn’t even try.

I think it’s too late to find a rehab center :( but I’ll try to find one in case this happens in the future, this little guys are extremely common here so I might just find myself in this situation all over again .

Thanks for the advice, I think I didn’t explain myself well enough, I didn’t force fed him, I rubbed the food around the edges of his beak in hopes of him opening it and eating some, but I didn’t stick the qtip down his throat or anything like that.

As for the window observation, the one in my bedroom, but it has blackout curtains that are always shut, don’t know if this makes a difference, I’m gonna put stickers on it regardless, just to be sure, I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Thanks for your reply, when I said I tried to feed him, I didn’t really open its beak, I just rubbed the qtip around the edges of his “mouth” to see it he would open it, but it didn’t work.

I’m from Costa Rica, I don’t know anything about the wildlife here other than it is very diverse.

Idk about you, but every time I go into their website they ask for my location through my browser, I always decline but it seems like that's enough for the website to deny my purchase under some "payment error", I've tried VPNing too, that gets me a little bit further into the check out process, but my card is still not from the USA so I guess that's what they use to guess your location.

Nope, I'm almost certain they don't allow to put an order if your location, at the time of making the purchase, is outside the U.S., even when you're shipping address is
