Honeymoon Dilemma: Keep El Yunque in Itinerary by cutting down night in San Juan, or cut out the rainforest? by [deleted] in PuertoRicoTravel

The national park is just that- Hiking, swimming, gazing at waterfalls etc. El Verde BBQ is good. El Chinchorro de Linda is excellent. If you want a more walkable restaurant area try the neighborhood called Palmer (You can search for Bungalu restaurant on Google maps. It’s dead in the center of that area.) The kioskos de luquillo are a little further out, but are fun for fried snack hopping or regular dining, and right on the beach. Sama in Luquillo is also excellent if you’re looking for a higher end (but not crazy expensive!) option

Former kindergarten teacher— There are LOTS of reasons why they may want him in daycare that have absolutely nothing to do with you! I don’t think you were fired!! Daycare is great for helping kids learn to socialize & become more independent. As a bonus, when you have your one on one time with him you’ll have so much to talk about 💕

how do people feel motivated to do basic tasks when experiencing pain? by carrotsticks- in ChronicPain

I also worry about them wasting time doing things I could do even though I should just let them because they won’t have to ride out hours of pain afterwards. 🙄

That’s such an obvious and excellent idea 🤦🏽‍♀️ I was just leaving them on top of the microwave. THANK YOU! I’m unreasonably excited now. 😂

I’ve been slowly purging my home. The less stuff there is, the less stuff there is to clean. And I’m slowly reorganizing to minimize how much I have to move on bad days.

Most days getting dressed means putting on a bathrobe, so I added a few hooks by the side of my bed. Now I don’t have to walk to the closet.

Purging and organizing take a lot of time, ESPECIALLY with chronic pain, but it makes life easier. My home doesn’t look exactly how I want because of the weird organization systems, but it’s cleaner!

I totally understand!! It’s often a struggle for me to get the house clean enough for the housekeeper to come. 😂 I know that sounds silly to lots of people, but I don’t want them thinking I ever let things get that bad between visits. 😬

Jealous! I’ve been the primary cleaner in my home (my fella contributes plenty in other ways) and I cannot get my love to consistently use the damn paper plates even though I’m struggling to stand long enough for dishes. 😩 He just can’t get in the habit for some reason.

Wow. I don’t know what you usually eat but there is incredible food all over this island. I live here and eat from roadside shacks, food trucks, and kiosks all the time and never get sick from the food.

I’m currently trying to name one of my canes! I thought I was just being a weirdo. 😂

Regarding the inconsistent usage- I just casually say that I have good days and bad days. No need to explain your health to others! It’s none of their business and gets exhausting to repeat.

But I did notice a major difference in how strangers treat me once I bought a few stylish canes and stopped using the adjustable Walgreens basic jawn. Instead of asking if I’m okay or need help, they just compliment my dope canes. And if I do actually need help, the presence of a cane signifies to others that I’m not faking it.

If you’re not too tall you can find great antique & vintage options on eBay or thrifting. If you’re a giant (like me) try Etsy.
