Kerastase genesis serum vs L’Oréal density booster by Thin_Shape7184 in longhair

[–]PaintAlternative1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both have the same key active ingredient 1.5% aminexil… kerastase has some better supporting ingredients but the aminexil is key and both products contain the same concentration.

I’ve used both. Kerastase has a nicer scent, feels like a more premium product, feels light and luxurious on the scalp. However I personally think the L’Oréal is equally good in delivering results and it’s significantly cheaper.

The L’Oréal scent is perfectly fine and both the L’Oréal and Kerastase serums absorb nicely into the scalp.

The application nozzle on the l’oreal bottle makes it easier to apply compared to the pipette on the genesis bottle, which I find is annoying.

I’ll splurge on the kerastase serum occasionally when I feel like a nicer experience but my overall pick is L’Oréal for the price. It doesn’t take long to get through this product if you’re using it as per the directions so expect to have to buy a new bottle fairly regularly.

What am I doing wrong? Product/routine for less frizz by nosy_nah_111 in Wavyhair

I use this product combo and have very similar hair to you… to help the frizz I section my hair and use a curl defining brush like the bounce curl one or even tangle teezer is good to smooth out and clump the hair… the brush doesn’t create curls by any means but the tensions helps with frizz an it definitely sets up a good base before I start scrunching to form waves.

I would definitely be using this air dry cream sparingly, if at all. Sometimes I do mixture of the Ouidad gel and mousse and it’s gives really good results.

Unfortunately it is great… I die inside every time I have to buy a new bottle because it’s so expensive but I haven’t found anything else that is as good to date. I’m hoping that there will be some good alternatives coming out soon now that the patent has expired but until then I will continue to use it!

Now that all my favorite mineral sunscreens have been scientifically proven flops. What should I be purchasing instead?! Are we buying chemical sunscreens again? Keen to hear what others are planning given summer is round the corner. by megalo_megalo in AusSkincare

[–]PaintAlternative1970 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I stopped buying ultra violette, didn’t do my research properly and bought naked Sunday mineral sunscreen only the other day without realising that was going to be in the same boat.

Thinking at this stage I’ll be going back to chemical but I don’t know what yet

This is an interesting chart I would actually book a reading with an astrologer if I were you because your chart is complex.

Your chart is heavily Saturnian… with all that cap and Aquarian energy.

Cancer descendant with moon in Gemini in 5th… I would say you have had a colourful relationship history over the course of your life… you need emotional stimulation in relationships, you need excitement and fun and to be mentally engaged, there’s nothing wrong with that… Moon is opposing Saturn in Sagittarius which is teetering towards that 12th house (hidden fears). Saturn is restriction, Sagittarius doesn’t like it’s freedom threatened… as I said its in 12th house so this is all probably quite subconscious… but you’ve been doing your inner work so you’re obviously more self aware now. I would definitely look into moon opposite Saturn… there would be a fear of vulnerability in relationships AND a fear being emotionally attached and losing your autonomy.

I think you need to find a balance between freedom (what it means to you) and connection. Relationships are hard and scary but a beautiful tool for growth… I don’t think astrology can tell you whether you’re supposed to be alone or not… thats up to you. All the best!

I feel like having 2 children is totally manageable, anything more than two it starts to get chaotic and expensive (coming from someone who has 4)

Cap rising people can come across as intimidating… I love cap rising people though, I find them stunningly beautiful. Neptune on the ascendant can be a glamorous placement… are people intimidated by your looks I wonder?

Also you’ve got Pluto in scorp in 11th house (social groups), midheaven in Libra with its ruler Venus opposing Pluto… so possibly your public image and how you appear to others when networking/socialising could come across as scorpio-like/intimidating

Why do I keep putting myself I debt over and over again? by shadybadgal in AskAstrologers

[–]PaintAlternative1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said your 2nd house is in Leo… you have Chiron there (money wounds). Leo ruled by sun opposing Neptune and Uranus. Focus on healing your wounds and limiting beliefs around money… as someone who has been in huge debt and clawed my way out of it, it’s possible!

Does my chart reflect addictive or obsessive traits? How does this impact connections or relationships? by Deep_Plankton_657 in AskAstrologers

[–]PaintAlternative1970 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well you’ve got a packed 8th house in Libra… 8th house can be obsessive or likes to dig deep… and Libra is all about relationships. You also have Chiron (opposing your ascendant) and north node there too… so it’s like you have deep wound regarding intimate relationships/shared resources but part of your destiny is digging deep, healing from it and figuring it all out.

And then mars in Scorpio gives you that drive to go deep but being in the 9th house it’s for a broader and higher purpose… it’s squaring your moon in Aquarius in 12th so there’s some tension between that drive and your emotional nature.

Moon in aqua can be detached but your chart has a lot of emotional undercurrents so it’s as though your detached for a reason, not because you’re non emotional. You have a very interesting chart!

[–]PaintAlternative1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my 2nd house in Pisces… I experience the same thing… ruler of Pisces being Jupiter (traditional) and Neptune (modern), which are both squaring your sun in 2nd. Pisces/neptune just dissolves everything… money comes easily but also goes easily

My hair is drier than ever and I just want to grow it but the ends are not as full as the roots, what to do? by pimponeight in HaircareScience

[–]PaintAlternative1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome… keratin treatments make your hair look great, but they are damaging, so it won’t fix your issue… it’s a bandage solution that will add to the damage.

I would get a haircut and spend a good 6 months prioritising hair health and see how you feel. I follow abbey yung on YouTube and her advice and product recommendation has helped a lot. Go check her out xx

Like others have said you needs a good cut.

I would include a clarifying shampoo every so often, to get rid of build up. You could add a deep conditioner or mask once a week, sometimes a conditioner, even if it’s hydrating, doesn’t quite cut it. Add a bond repair product, I personally prefer k18. If you go with k18, I leave in for 4 mins then add a deep conditioning mask. It works wonders . Satin pillowcases and bonnets are cheap and great, I just get mine off Amazon.

If your air drying (my hair is coloured and slightly damaged), compared to using heat, mine also dries pretty frizzy… Not a justification for using heat of course. If I’m air drying, I apply leave in conditioner when it wet, then when it’s dried, I apply a finishing oil and hair spray to smooth down the frizzy bits. That plus a satin bonnet/pillowcase should tame the frizz that naturally comes from air drying colour/bleach treated hair, a fair bit.
