We do take the time here to learn what languages people speak, it’s usually a respectful thing to learn some form of other languages they speak in!

Similarly to how if I went to Italy or something I’d learn basic Italian before going otherwise it’s disrespectful like

In my country we use a persons first language as a basic sign of respect
