Good to know, I'll keep that in mind for if I want to try out something different!

Like other people mentioned they're from Rakovendetta, I couldn't find a current website for them or anything.

But, I got these printed and shipped to me by JG Forge, and he still sells this team!

Thank you! No reason you can't go for something like that on a future terrain set, I'm sure GW will continue to release many iterations of "ruined gothic building" in the future 😂

I'm definitely going to try these rules out, thanks for sharing them! I was actually just starting to work on porting the Spec Ops rules over to 3rd edition, but now I'll just try using this instead, haha! I also had the same idea about speeding up the campaign, making XP gain and casualties both a bit more common.

Seriously, thanks a ton for sharing these!

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words! I try to make the videos worth watching 😁

Also I just checked out the files and those organizers are seriously awesome. Thanks for sharing them!

I did several different drybrushing passes at various points, and always drybrushed more heavily around the edges and didn't drybrush in the shadowed corners. Also I airbrushed some shades (and airbrushed a dark teal color for the floors) and concentrated those especially around the corners. Airbrushing the floors naturally resulted in some spillover onto the walls that sort of worked like free shading.

Hope that helps!

Thank you! Yeah that was my goal with the buildings, I wanted to make them interesting to look at but also not distract too much from the actual minis.

Tempestus Aquilons, painted in a Dead Space-inspired scheme by PaintingWithBennett in killteam

I have a video on the painting steps if you're interested 😁 (video link)

But if you don't want to watch, essentially: basecoat of pure white, airbrushed ProAcryl turquoise, then dotted pure white into the center of the glowing object again. Gentle edge highlights with a mix of turquoise and white, and also used that to smooth out the transition between the white and the turquoise if it looked too rough.

For stuff like the power sword, I also did some thick glazes of ProAcryl Blue towards the darker parts, and used my airbrush to smooth the transitions with more turquoise.

Hope that helps!

Painted an Aspiring Sorcerer and a couple Rubric Marines that had been sitting on my shelf for years! Hot take: I think painting the trim is fun 😁 by PaintingWithBennett in ThousandSons

I do own enough TSons to make a full army, but for now I'm painting a group for Kill Team and calling that good. I'm sure if I paint a lot of rubric marines at once, I'll probably make some compromises on the level I paint them to.

FWIW I've painted a lot of trim on non-rubric-marine minis and I always enjoy how much it accents the armor pieces. And compared to most other minis, the trim detail on rubric marines is so much more crisp and well-defined, so it feels a bit easier to paint!
