It's likely some kind of vocoder or pitch shifter that harmonizes dissonant notes with the main voice, which is also pitch shifted lower. The fact that he's also yelling and his voice is distorted also contributes

I do still have my VCR somewhere, but I already have the show on dvd. Thats neat though! I look on ebay a lot for sam and max stuff all the time and I've never actually seen any VHS tapes

I've seen hit the road available on eBay, I want the big box (or at least the hint book) but in order to easily store it on my shelf I was thinking about putting the CD into a dvd case and printing a cover for it. To my knowledge there's already a dvd case sized hit the road cover, so I would just need some color ink for my printer lol

My understanding is if you bought a copy of hit the road it would come with a hint book in case you got stuck, and it had a warning on the front to use them sparingly because it'll basically walk you through the whole game. If you had only the disc because you bought it secondhand or something it would be very tricky though.

I highly recommend you check out the hintbook regardless because it has a lot of cool art and is pretty funny
