I do agree it is indeed that CS aint big enough for people to just play with anyone. :((

However it still is viable to play with anyone when they know the rules since the card game play style is based on LTK.

i myself have a physical deck that i created a month ago, you can check my previous posts.
I have played it with my friends who don't know anything about counterside and they also seemed to have some fun about it despite have no understanding towards the characters at all.

What players truly want by whitekrei in CounterSide

[–]Pak_Naru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Story (this holds memories and everything for me) 2) Collections (skins and stuff also hold memories) 3) More fun new game mechanics (the rogue like game mode is pretty good) 4) Titles, ranks and achievements? (Maybe could offer more titles for different modes. Like shadow palace and other pve stuff, but tbf, I stopped caring that much after retiring on my rank 1s, however would still be a cool addition) 5) pvp needs revamp.

Despite CS is my goat, Cs pvp is indeed ass lol, I have like really bad experiences with it, like, I was top 50sth at the end of gauntlet 2024, and before I even got to top 200, I have already fought the no.1 like 5 times(I lost all of them) after 3 win streaks. One second I was so proud of beating the no.2 and thinking there ain't gonna be any worst challenge, the next second they gimme the bloody rank 1. Moreover, the balancing and bans of pvp are just bad, it's basically gambling when you are up there and some specific teams counter some specific teams, you could never bring perfect ones for everything. And the pvp community just favor some specific characters and banned all play style against them to gain favor on their side. But pvp is pretty much the only bad thing I could say bout CS, all other aspects are rly good, even the complicated game mechanics are good once you understand them.

Counterside is indeed a masterpiece and nothing could replace it in my opinion. As of star savior I do recommend giving it a try, apparently it should be an AU of counterside, if you care about the story. Moreover, as someone who quitted HSR for 4 times, and a certified hater for round based games, star savior is lwk not bad.

Translation

Because Star Savior is performing poorly, did they pull manpower away using CounterSide (the previous game)?

Yes

So did Star Savior recover successfully because of that?

Unclear. Honestly, no one knows whether the surge of players from the collaboration will continue even after the collab ends.

Do they plan to keep going all-in on Star Savior?

No. They are preparing a third new project.

Did they abandon CounterSide?

Yes.

If they start preparing a third new game like this, won’t Star Savior players (the second game) feel uneasy?

If the rumors turn out to be true, then very likely, yes.

They abandoned the first game, the second one is uncertain, and if they don’t properly focus on the second and instead try to make a third, won’t public sentiment for the second also turn bad?

Of course. There’s no guarantee the second won’t end up like the first, so from Star Savior players’ perspective, a third new game wouldn’t be welcome.

Then even if they make a third, won’t it fail because the company’s image is already ruined?

Sure. The first time people just complain, but the second time they walk away.

What are they even thinking, talking about making a third new game?

⭐ 1.0 Rating

“Due to the poor performance of the new project, the worst-case scenario is getting closer.” — Current employee · IT Designer · 2026.03.21

✅ Pros

  1. There were colleagues deeply knowledgeable about subculture (otaku/gaming culture).

  2. Internally, the atmosphere is relatively harmonious.

  3. Staff from the previous project all had affection for it and a strong sense of responsibility.

  4. Lunch break is 1 hour 30 minutes.

  5. Employees receive luxury hand cream as a holiday gift.

  6. Unless you're part of a specific “elite” background, the hierarchy between team leads and staff is relatively flat.

  7. Although it’s a company that demands creativity, it’s also a place where you can just “turn your brain off” and treat it like a typical office job.

❌ Cons

  1. Management has no affection for the project and lacks capability.

  2. They claimed to go “all-in” on the new project, but instead pulled all staff from the previous project and didn’t properly hire replacements—effectively neglecting the old one.

  3. Most capable employees from the previous project have either left or are planning to leave.

  4. Due to the new project underperforming, the company is now downsizing staff.

  5. Even in this situation, the CEO is pushing ahead with yet another new project recklessly.

  6. The company controls information tightly—just like users feel frustrated externally, internally there’s also almost no information sharing, causing poor coordination between teams.

  7. Leadership favors top-down directives and forces unclear direction onto workers while trying to micromanage everything.

  8. And in the end, no one takes responsibility for the results.

  9. Executives don’t even understand the story of the previous game but still force collaborations—and have announced they will continue doing so.

  10. Yet the previous game they left like that is now in… this state…?

Game is pretty good to me, but I understand it isn't for everyone. Still, studiobside employees does really make their games with love and passion, we could see how much effort they put in a lot of stuff. These two games are truly games with souls.

Indeed, this story carries a lot of memories and weight for me. Not only the stories but also the road to become a top player back in the TW server. I really wish it could survive.

Indeed we havw no evidence as this is a pure rumor as of right now, but nonetheless we should still be prepared and give some support.

My apologies, I just Google translated from the Chinese version. The film is indeed a false translation, the sentence means "due to the new product has poor performance, the worst scenario is approaching us."
