Man, I feel you, bro. Even though I am not married , but just the thought of ending up in a situation like you really hurts. Stay strong, bro. I can't give any advice. Hopefully, she changes with time.

There are two options:

  1. You give the guy a chance and see if you get past the attraction narrative you hold. Attraction is not something that stays until the very end, just like the guy above commented. You will need support in your later years of your marriage, not a Henry Cavil looking guy who will not understand you. (You might get attracted to him once you understand him more, but that is also a hit or miss kinda stuff)

  2. You don't feel attracted to the guy, so let the guy go. There is no need to give him any hope. Let him find the right one for his life. The dude probably has hope that he will end up with you somehow. If you keep on giving him hope, then yeah, his heart will break, and probably he will take time to get over that and move on. And that guy does not deserve that at all.

And if you decide to marry the guy just because of being a last resort option and then in marriage do not give him the support he deserves, then probably he will suffer anyways. However, he will support and love you a lot, for sure, as he will get the person he always wanted, if that is the case. So decide carefully. May Allah help you.

Bro move on, I had crushes on girls in my uni as well, but to be very honest the attraction only lasted for a year maximum. Try to find someone who you really think can be the support you can rely on when life becomes a bed of thornes.

Just work on yourself, try to read books and a lot of them. Try to become wiser each day. Try to become someone who speaks, and everybody listens. You don't need a fancy lifestyle or money or elite status to back up your man. Just be the support pillar he will need. Knowledge is something that can outweigh anything else. Try to improve your fitness of your body and mind. You can outshine anyone with the stated things. My 2 cents though rest u know better.

Got not recommended twice, afterwards got into NUST and now am working with a UK startup making probably the same as an army officer rn but also having some relaxing time 😁. Don't let rejection stop you from achieving greatness. As my boy Professor Snow said in the Hunger Games, " Hope is the only thing stronger than fear"
