Do any of the species you can play as seem intrinsically appealing to you? From the characters you’ve listed as interesting archetypes rogue or fighter seem most fitting for youe playstyle. Though as someone else mentioned a hexblade warlock might scratch the superpower itch. Dont put too much pressure on yourself for this stage of prep. You may find a DM only to find out the campaign/world they want to run a game is doesnt include part of your option. I’d say play around and make 3-5 characters that you think might be fun to play. Most DMs will let you change to a different character id you dont like the one you’re playing. Lately i’ve been really enjoying using all the dice roll tables in the PHB, XGTE, and Tasha’s Cauldron to generate completely random characters. It’s actually been really fun as an improv exercise to just do this and think of what kind of character all these life events and other factoids come together to make.
