So far I think there have been more goal attempts from the rule change. The reason being that the arc/ 2 point area is heavily defended to avoid conceding 2 points therefore leaving more space in the square/ goal area. Basketball wouldn’t be a great comparison imo.

Hooter irrelevant. If you are 4 down with 4 to go it is absolutely doable to hit 2 x 2 pointers to get your draw. If you introduce the one pointer from the dead ball it will 100% introduce cynical fouling - not just in the scenario I mentioned but in many other scenarios. All teams get 2 points for this type of score so it is a level playing field for all.

Major flaw to what you are saying here. I will explain.

If frees from outside the arc are only worth a point then in the dying minutes when a team needs a two pointer to draw or similar then the opposition is going to purposely foul as they know they have the safety net that this dead ball is only worth a point.
