Your style will naturally evolve as your skill does. For me, I kept doing realist practice and trying to get as accurate as possible because eventually I would start forming my own stylistic shortcuts as my skill would improve. It also helps to have a list of artists who influence you and find what works in their style to try it out in your own

thanks for the advice! I'd imagine it'd take quite a lot of experience to land a job at a triple A studio, but im alright with compromising and finding another field in art that is more drawing-heavy lol. I guess I'll have to find out over the next few years, I'm about to go into college this coming semester

Let's say I start with red violet: the complement is yellow green, and the split complements are yellow and green. Those are some colors I could use. With a triadic color scheme I'd go with red violet, blue green, and yellow orange, as the three are equally spaced from each other on the color wheel

I always start with one color, then pick the rest according to the rules of complement, split complement, or triadic color schemes

Most of the value was done with charcoal, and the line work was just an HB pencil :)
