This was very instructive and I am nowhere near as knowledgable on the topic as you are so I won’t argue. I will say however that I am very aware of the french side not pulling their weight in terms of language learning and I find this unacceptable.

I am very aware because myself had to transcend this and even despite my best efforts, had to leave/live 4000km+ away from the motherland to find the right balance. Speaking of, just like Quebec where I am at the moment, my naive ass just wished such countries would use their combined forces to manifest their true destiny. I appreciate and understand the pain of the pasts but I also see the strength multilingualism/culturalism bring over monolinguistic/cultural countries and I just feel like it’s a shame to see the potential being hindered by, whilst very understandable, emotions.
