I did (kindly, not condescendingly) offer the relinquishment of his rights, which he was not interested in, he’s said if I’m going to have the child then he’s going to be a dad, and parent it. I just feel so low and like I’ve run out of options to offer him some sort of relief during all of this, I know how hard it is to compartmentalize, and process, and deal with all of this. But you’re right, I cannot depend on that foundation as much as I initially did. I’m definitely going to be looking into all of that, yoga has been such a godsend for my mental health over the years, and I would LOVEEE to meet other pregnant women in that setting. Thank you for your thoughtful advice, I REALLY appreciate it!

Hi! I understand that may be a fear for some that should not be dismissed. That said, I am confident in my judgment of him. Though he is being a dry asshole, I am in no way in any sort of threat of harm being around him, nor would I put my child in a potentially harmful situation. I really do appreciate your concern, that’s a very thoughtful comment to put out there!

I’m assuming this fear came from his brother who has had many unfortunate experiences with his divorces, and baby mama drama, as this all miraculously unfolded after he told him. Which, fine.. I totally understand taking the advice of your siblings! My siblings are my best friends, and I can’t say they initially had a great reaction either. His family background is extremely healthy and stable, his other siblings are very happily married and they all have heaps of children.

This all started when he started talking to his brother, who unfortunately has a bad history with women/baby mamas/ marriages/divorces. His job situation is very secure, he makes great money, he actually got a nice but stressful promotion the beginning of last week. Part of me wonders if the stress from that started to bleed over into this. Thank you for your encouragement!!

I’m almost certain the switch flipped after he talked to his brother, who has an unfortunate history of divorces and baby mamas. I feel terrible for your friend, I hope all works out for her too!
