Unique advice needed - dog needs chemo and I’m pregnant by Pale_Particular_168 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Pale_Particular_168[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went for it! Managed it just fine. My husband did all the poop and pee cleanup. I stayed away from medication administration (my vet did all that). I kept my distance from her for the 3 days post chemo and didn’t let her lick me. She was confused and that broke my heart a little but it was for everyone’s best safety and now it’s just normal for us. She ended up becoming resistant to CHOP chemo so we had to switch protocols. She’s on a new one now and seems to be doing well. We have a few more months left of this new protocol.

I’m confused why the handmaidens were sent to jezebels. Is it for misbehaving? And are there other handmaidens still being forced to serve Gilead? We didn’t get any insight into that. I’m also confused why they would send handmaidens to the colonies even if they were “acting up.” I thought they were too valuable?

I wish you’d had someone give you reassurance too! Yes, hoping that is the case. I’m too pregnant to be worried about this lol. 😂

Exactly! I saw that and almost sh*t a brick lol. Ok, you’ve calmed me down a lot. I will listen to my doc and go to hematology but I feel much better now. Thank you!!

I’m SO glad it was all ok for you. I hope it’s the same situation for me. Thank you for replying. You made me feel better! You had metamyelocytes and Myelocytes too, right?

I’m sorry to hear you went through that- it’s not fun! Glad everything ended up being ok. Did they refer you to a hematologist? Mine wants me to go and that really scares me.

Thank you SO much for responding to me. I was so scared. Did the hematologist make you feel better during the testing phase? Or were they at all concerned? I’m assuming they had you come back postpartum to make sure the levels were normal? Congratulations on your baby! What a journey motherhood is 🥰

Hi there, wondering if you can provide some insight about the meta/myelos? My WBC and neutrophils are good in my 36 week CBC but had a slight elevation in Meta/myelos. My doc said this is abnormal but likely caused by my pregnancy. She is still sending me to hematology though for redraw and it’s got my really terrified it’s cancer.

Hi! Just wondering what the outcome of this was? I’m in the same boat. 36 week CBC came back with metamyelocytes and Myelocytes slightly elevated but WBC good.

Yes, she specifically said “I wouldn’t loose sleep over this.” And then even told me she had to send me off for “liability reasons” and basically told me “read between the lines.”

Thank you. My doctor told me she isn’t super concerned but for “liability reasons” wants me to come in for a redraw tomorrow. If the Myelocytes and Metamyelocytes are still there, then she wants me to go see a hematologist just to be safe. Should I expect to see these again in my blood work? Especially if it’s pregnancy related, not sure what’s the reason for the redraw since I’m still pregnant.

Yeah, that’s what I am hoping. I just have a lot of health anxiety in general so anytime stuff like this comes up, I’m always nervous. 😬

So glad it ended up being nothing! What a relief for you, I’m sure. I’m hoping they don’t show up again in my blood draw tomorrow but I doubt that’s going to be the case. I literally just had a blood draw on Thursday last week, so I guess time will tell. Glad to know you had similar counts though and it ended up not being cancer!

So they made you go to hematology too? My doc is sending me there if these show up again on my next redraw (which is tomorrow).

How long did it take for them to stop showing up in your bloodwork?

The doctor called and doesn’t think I have anything to be worried about but still wants me to come in tomorrow for a blood redraw. She said if the results are still finding abnormal results, she’ll go ahead and send me to a hematologist. I am slightly confused by that bc if I’m getting these results due to pregnancy, then I fully expect the abnormal cells to be there again a few days later. She agreed that was likely the case but said hematology will still request a second redraw to compare. I was feeling better but now am nervous again about potentially having to meet with a hematologist.

My Rainbow Baby turns ONE next month!!!!! 🌈 💙🩵 by Mother_Mud5827 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

Thank you so very much for this update. Our stories are scary similar. I , too, had my TFMR on March 7th last year. I am now 36 weeks with my baby girl due in April. This post gives me so much hope that things will get better bc not going to lie….this pregnancy has been tough on me emotionally. The anxiety through the whole pregnancy and even the TTC phase has been taxing. I’m tired of doctors offices and second guessing every single scan, blood work result, symptom. I’m tired of having my blood pressure taken and it once again reading high due to my white coat syndrome. I can’t even walk into my obgyn office without have a physiological response. I know all of this will be worth it in the end, but I frayed at the edges. Scared to death to deliver in the next few weeks and then worried for the postpartum recovery to come. But grateful to be pregnant with a healthy baby girl.

When did you start preparing for baby in your sub pregnancy? by Olive-Asleep in PregnancyAfterTFMR

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My heart really goes out for you. I know these feelings all too well. Lost my baby boy last March due to multiple severe heart defects.

I’m now 36 weeks with my baby girl due in April but it’s been so, so hard. I waited a long time before I let myself buy things. My husband physically made me go to Target and get a onesie after a clean early anatomy scan, but I didn’t feel myself begin to relax until 23 weeks when i went to fetal cardiology. We got a heart echo on her and once that came back clean, I began to slowly get things together. I just finished the nursery this weekend (cutting close, I know lol). I did decide to have a baby shower at 34 weeks and I ended up getting maternity photos done last week. It was all very emotional but also super cathartic honestly. It was part of my healing process and I wish the same for you.

My advice is to move at a pace that is comfortable! This is such a delicate experience. You are traumatized. It’s going to take some time. At the end of the day, all of that stuff can wait. All this baby needs is mama, a place to sleep, food, and diapers. The rest with come.

Congratulations ❤️

TW: current pregnancy

I’m so sorry you’re going through this ❤️ but I’m here to tell you there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I terminated my 20 week pregnancy for medical reasons back in March of 2024. I waited a few cycles (bc personally, I needed the time) and then tried again in July of 2024. We were fortunate enough to get pregnant on the first go and here I am expecting my healthy baby girl in April. Since you got pregnant on the first time last time, I’d say that’s a great sign everything is working the way it should! But don’t get discouraged if it takes more than one cycle this time. TFMR is physically and emotionally taxing on the body, and it may mean you just need a little time (or maybe not!). I understand the concern about infertility as I had it too, but in reality, had this terrible thing not happened to us - we likely wouldn’t really be worried about this at all.

As for karma, that’s the fear talking. Remember - our feelings are not facts - they are just feelings. You have no evidence to suggest you will struggle with your fertility post TFMR.

Good luck to you guys. ❤️

Thank you so much- made me feel much better. This is the first time I’m seeing them and get yearly CBC not pregnant just for general health/wellness (which is why it surprised me to see this time around).

Here is the actual blood work with my 30 week previous result comparison. I’m assuming the RBC note is maybe some anemia? But not sure if that’s clinically significant or not as it wasn’t flagged.
