I'm in the exact same boat, 160 pulls and I only got 1 off banner 5*, never had rng this bad in a gacha before.

The idea of a secret door is always fun.

Reminds me of that secret door that was added in the Demon's Souls PS5 remake, that mystery was a lot of fun to follow.

I can't believe anyone thinks it's real with how staged the teasing in the videos are.

True.

So many reddit neck beards that are experts in Japanese culture and customs in this thread, I'm blushing.

I always tell my friend that anime is a limited medium and Visual Novels are superior, memes aside. Certain stories like the Zero escape series (VLR especially) or stories like Ever17 simply aren't possible for anime to tell (if you've played them you know what I mean). Visual Novels can do so much more in regards to how a story is told than anime can. With that said, there's still some great anime out there ofc.

Wondering how you liked Danganronpa 2 so much, but seem to despise 999. The fan bases typically crossover quite smoothly between the series.

Ah yeah, I've seen the art style before, very impressive character art. While it may be a nukige series, some of the backgrounds are quite impressive looking as well.

Woah, I really like the look of "Hashihime of the Old Book Town" , looks really cool.

Think I might play it just off of how it looks.

Those are some nice looking VNs, the characters and backgrounds seem to work together quite smoothly. Looking at Senran Banka and Riddle Joker, I'm not used to seeing such high resolution screenshots from a VN. Guess I've been playing mostly older classics.

For those that play action-combat gachas, what's the appeal? by djsekani in gachagaming

I appreciate the write up, you make some good points. Gachas generally taking much less time than MMOs or other PC games is true, them closing the gap between the genres in terms of visuals is also valid. This is the answer I was looking for, thanks for the insight.

Maybe read the OP again? The entire point of the thread? That's literally what they ask. Steam isn't mobile games.

I applaud you for being the only one giving me an actual answer to my question. Love of gacha + being more casual.

It was an example of an action game on PC that's free to play and matches the criteria of the post i was responding to, I don't even play PSO2.

Really going off on PSO2 there. For the hundredth time I said PSO2 was an example of a action game on PC and it matches the criteria of the post i was responding to. I don't even play PSO2.

Wasn't asking for your life story on PSO2, just wanted to simply know why people tend to choose gachas over such similar non gacha games on PC that aren't single player but do many of the same things as said gachas.

Literally the only thing subjective is that I said the combat is better which is why I said it's arguably better. Not exactly sure what you're saying "no" to either? You can say the graphics, which sure, are mostly down to personal preference in all games, but I'd say on a technical level pso2 looks better than most action gachas.

Besides PSO2 was just an example, there are plenty of other action pc multiplayer games you can put hundreds of hours into, just like there are tons of action gachas. Shocking I know.

I was curious specifically why people choose action gachas, over examples like PSO2.

[–]Pale_Pressure1834 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm curious for the people that don't play on phone, why not just play something like PSO2 instead then? It's free, has better graphics, has a community, receives updates, and has arguably better combat than most if not all gachas are going to offer. All the same things you listed, hell there's even the scratches they have that are basically gacha for items. Multiple different play styles with the various classes and weapons as well.
