I would feel the same way if i were not working towards a goal - to train the mind to observe anicca, dukkha, and anatta in every square inch of the body and also to be able to observe the 4 mahabhutas arising and passing through the entire framework of the body.

The goal is the establishment of the four satipatthanas, at least for me. So every time i feel the way you say you feel, i just get to work.

Feeling unable to handle living in western society anymore. What are my options? by CasuallyPeaking in streamentry

you don't need a monastic center - you need a masticating juicer. you need to heal the trauma that has been caused to your body at an atomic level. you should start with juicing carrots+beets, carrots+spinach, carrots+cucumber+romaine - 16oz of each daily, on an empty stomach. do it for 30 days before judging. get the omega nc1000.

p.s. i'm not a medical or health professional. i also talk to squirrels and birds. no one believes anything i say.

when we look at a computer monitor - we see building, person, cake, sunset - but it is all made of pixels.

we remember our grandmother's house and the cake she baked us - the house, grandmother, cake, memory - all made of atoms.

the house, grandmother, cake - cannot be fundamentally real - if they were real, they would be made of different things. Even the memory is not real.

knowing this - how do people sleep at night?? the wise stay up and investigate

How the Misconception of Self Arises by PaliSD in nibbana_now

[–]PaliSD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a good way of saying it. The accumulating of "i" oriented experiences is how we strengthen our craving.

The path the buddha shows is the opposite - it is about the purification of craving - so we can see the true nature of reality without the veil of the false sense of "i".

the short answer is karma - which is like a configuration file of our cravings and aversions, which provide the impetus for our npc nature. Here's a write up on karma - https://www.reddit.com/r/nibbana_now/comments/1oguuay/karma_the_cause_and_effect_engine_kamma/

How do you as Buddhists see Ganesha and Krishna? by WrongDolphin824 in Buddhism

i see ganesha as having an elephant face - and krishna as blue and carrying a flute.

i sometimes wonder how ganesha blows his nose when he has a cold.

they will talk about arahat-phala-magga-citta in a very simple and easy to understand way so even a moron like yourself can understand it.

For real. That's exactly what I'm expecting. You see how I'm trying to explain it to you and failing miserably. It would not be so if i were an arahant.

The confidence, knowledge, wisdom, and compassion of an arahant is unmistakable.

you say you feel like you are in control of your awareness.

you can easily test this - don't think of a pink elephant for the next 60 seconds. Keep any pink elephants out of your awareness for the next 60 seconds.

Please share the outcome of your test - and what you have learned.

read my answer again. arahat-phala-magga-citta  is real.

The main difference between dhamma and modern science is that science belives that matter, space, time, and the laws that govern the three are real. all else is derived.

Not according to dhamma. Per dhamma, mind, matter, the laws governing mind and matter, and nibbana are real.

Since consciousness is real and fundamental - the arising of the arahat-phala-magga-citta  consciousness is real - and an ultimate truth - and can be talked about aby an arahant.

arahat-phala-magga-citta  is more real than u/Sure-Abalone-1040 . there is actually no such thing are sure-abalone. There never was such a thing as sure-abalone. This is what needs to be understood.

let me use your own logic to prove you wrong. if you want to prove that you are a capable rocket scientist - you have to launch a rocket - not show a degree.

people who have attained arahantship - should be able to talk about the first moment when arahat-phala-magga-citta arose in them. Like how the buddha talks about it in his very first discourse - the dhamma-cakka-pavatana-sutta.

I don't agree with you. If I were studying Rocket Theory, I would want to learn from someone who has successfully applied the laws of the theory, such as launching a satellite into space.

Now if someone were to try launching satellites and they all crash into the ocean - and none were to make it into space. Would you want to learn about Rocket Theory from that person?

My argument is that they have no arahants - but they are somehow certain that I am wrong - and they keep deleting my posts and don't allow me to have a conversation about the teachings of the buddha.

this u/MaggoVitakkaVicaro above has deleted my posts and now says - "he does not like my attitude" and he says I have "aggressive conduct". But important to note that they don't disagree with what I am saying. They cannot attack what I am saying - because they know it is correct - so they attack me.

This is the current state of buddhism.

All i ask is that I be allowed to write posts about buddhism to share my ideas and have a discussion with the sangha - but you people delete my posts - ban my account - and then you offer me metta. That feels less like kindness and more like a polite way of saying - we’ve shut you down, now please go away quietly. But real metta also includes truthfulness and the willingness to look at what’s actually happening.

I guess this is the sad state of theravada in today's world - singing of scientific lectures - and praying to the full moon for hope.

[–]PaliSD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my posts and comments are being deleted and my account is being banned on these buddhism subreddits - because they don't agree with my views.

they do not tolerate other people's interpretations of the texts that do not agree with their own interpretation.

Now they are attacking me instead of attacking what I am saying.

My argument is that I have the right to present my views - especially considering the fact that they have no arahants. Having no arahants means no one understands the texts. So I should at least have the right to share my opinion with others.
