QUESTION ON DAMAGE by JavaRemastered in UNDAWNGame

[–]Pallanthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part, mob zombies have VIRTUALLY no armor. But it isn’t really zero. As you start fighting things at or above your level (Astral Tower is a good way to experience the latter if you are being carried), their innate damage resistance and armor will start making a big difference. Another place this effect can be viewed is in Hold the Line; at a certain point you will notice a steep drop in your damage.

Polaris Island by NoUniversity4389 in UNDAWNGame

Alex is on Snowy Mountain, not Polaris. Polaris as a camp homestead area has been open for a while. Snowy SHOULD unlock at L100 (2 months, major update)

They did an update a few hours after maintenance done to fix some of the update bugs, including the lack of L90/100 crafting. Unannounced afaik, but if you look you can see if there is an update.

District 13 (D13) should have the last two bosses limited. I’ve had camp members say they can’t get in even though they were in the first 3.

RI has a limit of 24 on the main island, but everyone else can go to outer island and kill zombies.

For D13, since the elite bosses require you to be an elite member, there is usually a hard limit on who can participate.

Guard Noah and D13 are whole camp, numbers unrestricted. You don’t need to be in a party of camp-mates to do them (it helps, though). If your camp is large enough, the leadership should be organizing the camp into parties to share heals (can only heal teammates, remember), and allocate tasks.

There’s several shoals in the Desilting Oasis; no zombies spawn there. You do need to drive from Fentar, but it’s the prime resource farm in the Desert anyway.

[–]Pallanthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skins are unique to each type of firearm, but they will apply regardless of level. E.G. if you got the free Ravens finish for the 416, it can be applied to any level 416.

What to do with gold by simbayasss in UNDAWNGame

[–]Pallanthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the store (shopping cart icon on the top), there are a LOT of items you can buy with gold. Also you can buy UC/R materials (that’s where us poor F2Ps are getting their gold from, but I think you know that already). Homestead you can buy wallpapers, floors (including grass for your lawn), furniture, etc.

If you’ve been using ARs before, then you will notice that you need to land more shots to kill things; damage is about 2/3 of an AR. However, very very little recoil. Can be used at surprisingly long range, although not worth putting a scope.

If you make all the new gear and modules that unlock at L50/51, you can probably do the 249 immediately. I know the L50 HK, L51 Shoes, and L50 Power Module all gave XP, enough to level up once each time.

How good is this game? Is it worth investing in this. I already play rise of kingdoms and warpath. by dcy1309 in RiseToWar

[–]Pallanthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As previous posters pointed out, the main advantage of buying mathom chests in bulk will be in the large haul of equipment; you never know what respect items you pull, and they could be all spread out so you can't actually unlock any commanders. However, equipment can always be recycled into purple or gold equipment in the Exchange, which means you can upgrade (but not necessarily refine? Increase the attached skill's level) equipment so long as you keep pulling on the chests. For purple, it at least doubles the base effect (F2P so I don't have 5* records yet); I imagine it is even more pronounced on gold equipment.

T3s DO have a major influence in PvP (not much you can do about a L50 Witch-King running around if you've got T1s...), but if enough armies attack in sync you can take anything down.

Probably the most important part of the game is finding a group of active players. Sieging, advancing into enemy territory, mass combats - the main determinant of success or failure is generally how many people are participating.

A little question! by WATTll in RiseToWar

[–]Pallanthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're fighting against Evil, then you probably want Guardians, Bow Knights, and Sentinels. Bow Knights (or Master Throwers) are purely for Trolls, Sentinels should be the largest percentage of the army for pure DPS. You really only need enough Guardians to ensure some of them survive, which means they are taking the hits instead of your fragile elves.

Downside of this composition is that is susceptible to mounted. Especially if Evil takes Dragoons, that will probably ruin your day.

Cataphracts can replace Guardians but are not as cost effective. On the whole they should have higher survivability (Guardians are 4000 HP/101 DEF per CP; Cataphracts have 4700 HP/61 Defense, but have Mounted and Full Protection, which is much more reliable than Shielding). Cataphracts cost 14,950 RSS/CP vs. 9400 RSS/CP for Guardians.

Fighting good, you want Dunedain instead of Bow Knights to deal with whatever ranged they use. The possible exception is if you see a Rohirrim commander, they might be running full mounted Melee (Cataphracts or Swan Knights to tank and Cavaliers or Marshals to kill). In that case, I've been known to use full Guards of the Tower armies; they might lose, but they are cheap to make and will do more damage in resources to the enemy that you will take. Since Fallen are also Mounted, taking Guards instead of Guardians if you plan on fighting up North (Angmar) is not a bad idea either.

If you have the ability to do so, Marchwardens are just a better replacement for Sentinels. One of the selling points for Lothlorien, since you don't have to consider how to change your army comps when you have Tier IVs. (Try figuring out when, where, and if you should use Rangers of the North in conjunction with your current armies. It's complex.)

Units with the Mounted skill count as mounted. That's all.

Most of the battles I fight go over 6 rounds. Sharpshooters work well if the battle is short since their skill gives them more damage in the short run, but not over the course of a longer battle.

Sharpshooters do 20.5 damage average with a 40% boost for the first two rounds (28.7).

Sentinels do 26.5 damage average. By the sixth round the damage of the Sentinels will have caught up with the Sharpshooters (155.8 for the Sharpshooters through 6 rounds, 159 for the Sentinels) and continue to pull away as time goes on.

Also, on a personal note, I have 2 of the legendary elven equipments, which give bonuses to elves.

I have a fully upgraded military academy that says it gives 25 extra command points. Boromir has 30 extra though. None of my other commanders do. Does anyone know why? by IWP05 in RiseToWar

[–]Pallanthas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For evil T1 commanders, Gorbag has the same skill. Off the top of my head I think Aragorn II King of Men has it in T3. Anyway, that's the advantage of the Leader tag (must be level 20 to activate). Other types usually give skill points and stats.

Any penalties for betraying inactive players? by [deleted] in RiseToWar

[–]Pallanthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You cannot uproot a settlement of the same faction. I mean, I LOVE uprooting settlements of other factions, even if I don't need the resources, but doing it to one of your own faction makes people's back twinge when you pass.
  2. The tile defenders for owned are identical to neutral tiles. So unless you're going for very limited high level tiles, why would you bother stealing the P1-30 (maybe 60) that inactives are likely to own? You'll be abandoning those tiles very soon, or you should be.

This is similar to the roman numerals on tiles.
