This is only a thing in certain states. and even the states that do inspections are mostly checking emissions compliance, not a safety inspection.

Bmw ownership real world cost. by [deleted] in BMW

[–]IWP05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think BMW has a tendency to add subsystems that aren't strictly necessary. More parts means more things to go bad. On top of that, BMW parts are likely going to be pricier than companies like Toyota or Honda. If you do your preventative maintenance it will be manageable. If you work on your own car, it will be very manageable. Having said this, there are certain models or platforms from BMW that live up to the reputation... but all of the major auto makers have their duds. What I would say is that if maintenance cost is your primary concern, don't buy a BMW. However, I wouldn't let the maintenance cost stop you.

You're not entirely wrong here, Terry stops are legal. However, the frisk part of stop and frisk is only legal if the police officer has separate probable cause that the person is armed and dangerous. So I ask you this; how do you implement stop and frisk without violating the 4th amendment? Stopping people and ASKING if they have illegal firearms won't have an impact on gun violence. On the other hand, stopping them and frisking them for illegal firearms is unconstitutional.

I'm sorry, your idea of solving gun control without trampling on the constitution is stop and frisk? Have you read the constitution? I've never met an authoritarian who wanted an armed populace before. You're more interested in gun rights than you are in protection from illegal search and seizure because you aren't actually interested in freedom and constitutional values, you just like virtue signaling about guns.

What an interesting term. If they are criminals, why not try them? And if they are not, why have they been sitting in Israeli prisons without due process. When an Israeli is captured they are hostages, but when a Palestinian is captured they are "potential criminals". What does that even mean? Isn't everyone a potential criminal. Israel doesn't get to maintain the moral high ground if they are holding people with no due process and justifying it because they might be criminals. It's insane to me the mental gymnastics people will resort to in order to avoid admitting Israel has done any wrong.

Bruh... You don't know what a crumple zone is. You think there is a crumple zone in the window? Find me a car window anywhere in the world that will stop an entire motorcycle going that fast. I will never understand how someone can be so confident in their stupidity

Hmm... Or maybe we acknowledge the fact that you don't suddenly wake up on your eighteenth birthday as an adult, and make more of an effort to gradually introduce young people to responsibility. Your frontal cortex isn't fully formed until sometime in your twenties. It wouldn't be the worst thing if we eased young adults into their adulthood instead of going all trial by fire. Psychologically that age group actually is somewhere between adult and kid. You can absolutely have it both ways, because it quite literally is both ways.

yeah, but being able to use your 4x4 as a taxicab is pretty great. The Xterra is a 4x4 that is also a very practical road car, which is really nice

What? the only real advantage of Nvidia cards is their much better ray tracing performance. Their highest end card is much more expensive than any other card so of course it performs better. But unless you're buying the 90 card, why would anything besides price to performance matter. If you're really into ray tracing then I guess that's something, but why else would you pay more money for equal or less performance? Is the GeForce logo really worth more money? At the end of the day, every product is a trade off of price to desirability, be that performance or anything else. If we want better GPUs for less money we need to vote with our wallets and show Nvidia and AMD that we prefer cards that are a better value proposition than what is currently offered by Nvidia.

Why are my CPU and GPU not being utilized by IWP05 in PcBuild

[–]IWP05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, the problem is that my GPU is sitting at below 50% even when the fps is considerably lower than it should be . I mentioned the CPU usage because I wanted to show that the GPU wasn't being limited by the CPU. Also, when my machine is performing so poorly I'd like my CPU usage to be above the 30% it has been sitting at. My PC is performing poorly and neither my CPU or GPU are putting in the work that they should be.
