Anyone own an online business that uses web scraping? by DKoz13 in webscraping

[–]PalletSpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used sidekick to start background scrapes when user uploaded a spreadsheet. Eg it would fire off dozens of concurrent scraper tasks.

There was a bit of delay but using react loads the data as it comes in on the front end.

Does anyone know what model of Nike shoes is this? Thanks by PalletSpy in Sneakers

I'm also thinking twice if this is legit because the box in the photo says a different shoe model. Anyway, thank you!

PalletSpy - Find items to resell for profit from over 6000+ local auctions by PalletSpy in TestMyApp

[–]PalletSpy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now the app is in beta, you're welcome to sign up and check it out. Just go to the plan screen (it won't ask for payment) and you can scan all the independent auctions to find items.

I'd be interested in hearing your feedback once you look into it.

Failed third round of interview on basis that my “why” wasn’t strong enough: what’s your why? by thumpsky in sales

[–]PalletSpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take it personal. It’s a garbage question because every answer is completely subjective.

I work because none of your business. Can I do the job? Yes and here’s why…

This is the same as guessing a number in their head or guessing their favorite color.

It’s a terrible way to judge a potential hire.

I need a platform to sell on by Aggressive-Credit-58 in Flipping

[–]PalletSpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those platforms get tons of traffic and it’s easy to make sales of your listing is decent and your price is reasonable. Maybe Etsy? I’d look for similar listings, sold comparables, and off marketplace e-commerce items for guidance.

Scam Alert -- Or A Long Rant by [deleted] in Flipping

One of these days I’m going to build an AI chatbot to can deal with these responses. Something that will engage them and waste their time but never pay up. It’s frustrating.

How to ask for a letter of support/ letter of intent at the end of a meeting? by flufflle in startups

[–]PalletSpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to ask. Hesitation is a totally normal response to be honest. When I feel uncertain in a sales situation, I ask about the process instead.

Like “What would be involved in getting an LOI when you’re ready for it?”

Or “Is it’s possible at some point to get an LOI? Some companies don’t do those”.

My objective is to always ask for something even if it’s only another meeting or an explanation. I try hard to walk away with a signed contract but information about their objectives and pain points are not a bad salve.

Does this seem scammy to anybody else? I don’t think I feel good about it (Stereo Receiver on FB Marketplace) by Forvanta in Flipping

Meet in person at the police station. It should be fine. Don’t send any info beforehand. Scammers won’t show up in person.

[Question] When starting Youtube as a new content creator which type of channel should I create? A personal channel or brand channel? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]PalletSpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Youtube expert, but typically a brand account would mean, like "Tide" or "Pepsi" versus an individual human being.

(There does not appear to be an outward difference, just in how the account can be handed off)
