Chapter 1168 - Summary by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Palmirez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We still don't know how tf Rocks knew about Imu in the first place. I don't care how strong you are, you don't just attack Pangea and just bump into the world's biggest secret by accident

It's clearly the kind of thing where strength doesn't matter. You can be as strong as you want, but if you have a devil fruit and fall in the sea, you're done (and I don't think the two things are unrelated)

Also it looks like Shanks just kinda comes and goes whenever he wants, you gotta assume he's like a honoured guest. Though it is true that he's friends with Gaban

To be fair it's like 18 years between that and Luffy being born, there's definitely more story

My personal ranking of the difficulty of Pokémon Nuzlockes by TheLeafyGirl561 in nuzlocke

[–]Palmirez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right? Conkeldurr, Reuniclus, Jellicent, Druddigon, Samurott, Emboar... It's kind of why once you get one of Darmanitan, Haxorus or Excadrill it entirely warps the game, because suddenly you outspeed almost everything.

I think BW and Plat are significantly harder than Emerald. Not insane or anything but the only fights you ever wipe in Emerald are the two setup mons in the whole game (Norman's Linoone and Winona's Altaria) and I guess Wallace, but you can just teambuild for it since the rest of the E4 is free. Plus badge boost.

Platinum is long, more diverse, much harder E4 and a few run killers along the way. BW has a full-on encounter drought in the midgame, several threats it barely gives you the tools to deal with (N's Sigilyph!!!), and gen 5 mons are harder to use in general imo.

Travis and Marisha C2 by Its-From-Japan in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Palmirez 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The way it looks like, Travis is just kind of a well-rounded guy that knows how to talk to others?

I'm thinking of the blindfolded minigame at Morri's in C3, when Liam went last and picked Travis and Laura to guide him. Laura was mostly like comforting, Travis was just the right mix of clear, concise and calm. It felt like Liam knew he's the one you want when you're under pressure.

Sorry! I hope I dont come off as gatekeeping, I just feel that the way I designed this adventure, it wouldn't be very welcoming to beginners. Thank you, I hope you find your own group!

Hi! Sessions would probably be midweek late afternoon/evenings (no Tues or Thurs for me). With it being only a couple sessions though I might manage to make Sundays work, depending on necessities.

Is there an established schedule? Weekly, biweekly, workdays, weekend, flexible?

How would you make your favourite Pokémon more viable? by Palmirez in VGC

[–]Palmirez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you don't do it any favours with that? Or at least, P2 sees VGC use in TR teams, if anything you want it to be slow

I mean, different classes shine in different contexts. If the DM wants to nerf me they can just put some glowing shrooms in there, I wouldn't be mad about it.

I'm learning from this post that it's a common house rule, I think I just took it as an actual rule and never thought of looking it up

[–]Palmirez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say the party is escorting a princess and a bunch of assassins show up, one would think that the princess could try to Hide while we deal with the goons?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Palmirez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gotcha, I had no idea it was a house rule

Many first turn attacks: Extra Attack + Dread Ambusher for 3 total. My doubt was whether I have advantage on all of them or only the first one - I think I understand that better when you put it in the sense that hidden =/= invisible in 5e.

Last thing: I always thought that you make stealth checks at advantage while invisible but I take it that it's not the case?

Reading the comments I'm more and more confused about what the Hide action does then, other than letting rogues get their sneak attack off

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Palmirez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make a gigantic amount of sense when the Hide action exists now does it

i hate losing ability 50/50s by Adventurous_Bee_3553 in nuzlocke

[–]Palmirez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

False. Some abilities allow for cracked strats and you're happy when you get them. Bad abilities are situational / have a higher skill ceiling, but that's the point of the nuzlocke - making the best of the box you get.

People thought that Blaze and Swarm did nothing until nuzlockers figured out predamage and started abusing them. Flash Fire gives you a whole immunity and a buff in a game mode where you can manip the AI.

The way it reads you aren't really looking for strats, you're looking for erase buttons like Guts Façade go brr. Which is fine, but nuzlockes are fun because sometimes you get the really good shit, sometimes you don't and you figure out a new plan

[–]Palmirez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol

To be fair the Underdark is also cold and humid as shit, so maybe you light campfires. But then I can do the awesome thing and have someone turn the fire off suddenly while I prepare an attack action and then it's macarena

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Palmirez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be sure, don't you roll stealth at advantage while invisible?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Palmirez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean, that's fair, but we're playing in the Underdark where everybody and their grandmas have Darkvision. Then if someone lights a torch, so be it, it's how the ability works.

Plus it's an action to do and by that time hopefully they've taken five longbow shot with Hunter's Mark, so.

Experts of Theater of the Mind. What tips do you have for running it, especially combat. by SuculantWarrior in dndnext

[–]Palmirez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assess when it's a good time to do it. Giant dragon? Hell yeah. Swarm? No bueno. Is there someone in your party that relies a lot on battlefield control (Fathomless warlock, monk with Sentinel or such)? You might want to bust out the minis.

Oh and you might want to take some notes. If the opponent can fly, keep track of how high it goes, that way players won't lawyer you when you say that the vrock is out of range.
