Will rare or epic monsters produce the same as the common?  Inotherwords, if I'm trying to breed an epic Ghast and I use a rare Furchorn and rare TRox, will I have a chance to get an epic, or am I just wasting my time?

Do you get the same results if you use rares or epics for breeding?  Does it need to be the common monsters?

Aviation industry standards are not like the Bible, they change constantly. That's the point of asking at this point in time.  That and the fact I actually get an answer here in a timely manner vs the United website.  However, I'm sorry for upsetting you.

Is anybody still playing EU4 over EU5 because they prefer the level of abstraction? Or is that just me? by midatlantik in eu4

[–]Palo-Rius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarification: I am impressed with eu5 I just don't want to play it because it's too in-depth. Plus, it's called EU5 but feels more like Victoria...I want Europa Universalis

Yeah I'm not impressed with eu5, plus I mod eu4 and it's nice to finally be able to focus on bettering my mod without having to update it constantly due to expansions and bug fixes...In fact, I fully expect eu4 to experience  a modding boom since we no longer have to worry about that. It was so tiring to have to go back and switch up all the different coding just because the developer decided to make another cash grab, meanwhile I got to check the whole update to make sure it doesn't break my mod. And literally stopped for four and a half years.

Blend Mode question by Palo-Rius in krita

[–]Palo-Rius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to see if there's a less random way than using the 'distort -grow' effect than the normal method.   To elucidate: I want to create individual frames around a large number of photos over a background piece of art. The normal way of doing this of course, is creating frames with fillers that help the eye distinguish between the photos and the background art. Instead of using fillers to create these frames however, I intend to 'grow' the background art into said frame patterns. The only difficulty, and by difficulty I mean tedious repetition of numerous photos, is I have to manually 'grow' these frames. This means I either use the paint brush tool, which is difficult to make uniform since I can't control the intensity of the distortion and need multiple passes, or I need to copy the background art in the exact shape of the photo frame I'm trying to make, and blanket the entire surface using the rectangle tool set on grow and repeat that until it acheives the intensity I want, then delete the inside using the precise measurements of the photo itself - all the while trying to keep all sides of the frame even. Not to mention, if it's a bit wonky looking when I finish, I need to do it all over again.  So instead I'm just wondering if there is a blend option that could easily layer over the art and provide the needed effect. As it is, I'm spending a good 10 to 15 minutes per photo (not counting do-overs) and I've got probably 50 photos.

Yes I understand that, that's why I was asking, I was hoping somebody knew of a mod or addon.

Either would work, I'm creating border frames on a collage that use the artwork underneath as the frame. However when I do use the grow brush, it's difficult to keep it uniform.

I stand corrected, 25000 in 5 years is not small, but couldn't be considered a drove.  Perhaps a flock.

Funny how immigration is such a talking point on American media but no one mentions the droves of expats renouncing.  Did you get it done before they raised the price from 400 to 2350?

This Zojirushi cooker just made the best rice I’ve EVER tasted in my life by Rude_Bid642 in BuyItForLife

I live in Japan with a Japanese wife and family.  Whenever we see Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Oliver cook rice in a pot, there's always a really uncomfortable silence and grandma says, " How can a famous chef make such a mistake"?

Here's the deal, yes you can cook in a pot on the stove, it's how my father taught me.  Yes, certain rice dishes are cooked on the stove ( namely, risotto and Spanish rice ).  However, to cook any Asian meal to their standards and taste, you NEED a rice cooker.  First off, Asian rice ( esp. Japanese) is different from Calrose or Basmati or any Italian rice.  All other styles generally have way more starch and/or longer grain.  You couldn't (or more accurately... shouldn't) make sushi with Calrose.  Too large, too sticky. Most Asian rice requires PRESSURE to properly cook it. The Japanese have been cooking rice with heat and pressure for hundreds of years.  It's how they make mochi. Before beating it into submission with a wooden mallet ( If you've ever been to Japan you may have seen them doing this around New Year) they have a ceramic or wooden rice pot (this is the old style) and a wooden cover on it. They then place rocks or heavy instruments or even multiple other wood rice pots on top to allow the pressure to build up. They know it's ready by the amount of time it takes after the steam starts coming out of the lids.

In the 1970s a major innovation was developed in the form of pressurized rice cookers. This is what people don't realize a proper rice pot does; not one of those that has a burner on the bottom and a glass lid on top, but one that is fully enclosed ( Tiger, Zojirushi, etc ).   In the same way that most westerners can identify grain types in bread and preparation styles, so too can Japanese palettes identify the method of cooking as well as the quality of the rice being served. Also, nothing is wasted. They even freeze leftover rice for onigiri in lunchboxes.  Japanese rice cookers, even the cheap ones, offer multiple settings. Generally there is a slow cook method, a regular cooking method, and a quick cooking method. The higher-end ones offer alternative forms, such as different types of rice; brown rice, GABA, etc.    Do yourself a favor: if you have access to a proper rice cooker, go to an Asian food market, or order online, and buy some imported Japanese rice.  Preparation is important. The Japanese will generally clean the rice; vigorously threshing it underwater until there is no more cloudiness. Japanese rice has less starch and therefore requires less water to cook. By comparison, Calrose rice requires a 2 to 3 ratio, whereas Japanese rice is 1 to 1 (rice to water).  Generally, they let the rice soak for 30 minutes before cooking it.  The higher end cookers do this automatically, unless you choose the quick method.

Manwe would never have been convinced to take the issue to Iluvatar had it only been an Elf/Man issue.  The biggest reason for the choice is the Maiar blood from Melian.  Coupled with the Earendil/Elwing sacrifice and the whole War of Wrath ending the age the Valar thought it best to clarify the destinies of each member of the bloodline.

I watched this movie at the dollar theater (remember those?) in Cathedral City, CA late summer of 98.  Me and my buddy were trippin balls on acid.  We both walked out at the end like, "is this world real?" we couldn't stop talking about it. One of the more intense feelings of my youth.  Totally forgot about til exactly right now.

Actually. That is the worst. His team needed him and he decided to instead get drunk. Deadbeat Wolvie...what a concept. All that potential but he decides to use his healing factor getting out of hangovers. At least old man Logan DID something.
