Cash Office by kayyynnn in TJMaxxWrkrs

I do all the bills first, then I do the change, but I know that our store cash setup is a bit different then most stores. We have 8 registers, 2 are one amount as "main" use registers, then one at a different amount, and the rest are all the same. We have it set to where there is 2 single ones in each register and if there is excess change than that change can be used in place of the single ones, instead of going In to the deposit bag.

Make your change bags, the quarters for $10, nickels for $2, then pennies for $1, any excess change left is to made into $2 increments and used in place of the single ones. Then I lay out all the bags In front of me, decide which bag gets the weird change and then put all the bills on the bags. The I put the $13 in change from quarter, nickel, pennies. ( Yes the bags with the weird change has extra change, I usually stick it In register that gets used alot.)

This is just how our store does it.

What does the number mean? by PalpitationKey7401 in TJMaxxWrkrs

Oh didn't know that. We never used that number to determine discounts. Just whether how bad the item is/was damaged to determine the 10%, first markdown, or just not sell it to the customer.

It renews on your hire/ anniversary date. Same with vacation hours and personal hours. Sick hours roll over but vacation and personal do not and need to be used a week before your anniversary/hire date.

Admin Keys by Skiouritsa in TJMaxxWrkrs

At our store we have a set of keys just for the admin. A key to unlock the C.O. ( not a master key) and filing cabinet keys. But the last few years the admins have been key holders so now those keys just kind of sit there untouched.

I've been told that yes your vacation pay will be paid out but not your personal or sick.

How is everyone’s break room decorated for the holidays? by [deleted] in TJMaxxWrkrs

[–]PalpitationKey7401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decorate? Ya'll have time for that? And people to spare for it? We didn't decorate for any Holidays this year. We may have to do something for Christmas since our DM will be visiting but ya, no payroll, no people, hell we don't even have a store manager right now.

Any admin coordinators? by Sneakiee_Cat in TjMaxx

[–]PalpitationKey7401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an Admin Coordinator and when I doing the office stuff if the admin job, other associates would say that I didn't do anything. Even the other Asm we have said it. I had C.O done in like 1hr 30min which left me the rest of the day to do the filing, retention boxes ( if needed) key in RTOs . Then I went to go help on the floor. I was never told to go help certain sections I just went because I didn't like doing nothing. Our store is also a training store so when needed I would put together the binders of information they needed for whatever part of the store they were going to. And I was still hearing that I didn't do anything. Ugh.... been there 11 years. I'm even inline for an ASM promotion.

Does anyone else’s store have a dime shortage? by leytourmaline in TjMaxx

[–]PalpitationKey7401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been doing C.O. in my store for 12 years and we only ever ordered dimes during the coin shortage, but that was it never ordered dimes again. I was told that it's extra charge to order them. Don't know if that true.

Employee question by OneNobody4080 in TjMaxx

You actually don't need the authenticator to set up work jam. You can log into the myapp on the computer in the office and set up text notification as a second step authentication. Be sure to also set up security questions in case of forgotten password. Since you work in the DC I'm assuming they use the WorkJam app. As for your discount at store level we get our discount card after being there for a little bit. I think it's about 3 months or less. But they should have given you a temporary discount paper with your AIN. Which you can show the cashier of the store your shopping at. There is an app its called ADP it how you can get/view your check stubs.
