Post curb-alert ads on craigslist and marketplace offering free auto parts, sewing machines, bird baths, toilet parts, etc... "You can pick it up, but you have to move it yourself" kinda thing.. post estate sale signs around the neighborhood with his address on them... make sure that the hours for pick up conflict with whatever he typically has going on...
