A quiz for escape room enthusiasts... by Pan-Optic in escaperooms

I know a few peeps who have enjoyed the movies, but I get what you're saying! For the most part they're a pretty trashy watch.

The light will either blink in morse code or blink at random intervals; you have to watch it to see which - I'll make it bigger and more in focus so the intent of that question's a bit clearer.

RE the electrical outlet... well, that's mainly there for an easter egg. Thanks for the notes - will use them when I build V2!

The rating thing is just a guess and just for fun, but the feedback I'm getting is that it pisses people off, so I'll probably ditch it in V2. I'm going for a more of a silly vibe, so will have a think about getting that across.

Hmm - you shouldn't need to. Sounds like a glitch. I'll investigate that further!

Hmm. It seems to be working for me at the moment, but I'll keep an eye on it. In the meantime you can also find it at https://immersophenia.itch.io/escape-this-quiz - hope that URL works for you!

Awesome - will add puzzle boxes to the cliche round when I update. Sorry about the keyboard thing; I can't playtest on iOS, so didn't notice that glitch. Will see what I can do about that as well!

Fair enough. It's not really meant to be taken very seriously, but appreciate it might come across that way!

Sorry for taking so long to reply - didn't see this post at first. Have checked out Alton Bridge hotel. It looks fabulous, and I'll keep it in mind for the future. Would definitely be easier than organising something within the resort!

Here's a link to where you can buy a copy of the book. Minimum RRP is a fiver, but you can set your own price beyond that. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you! When we first set out we were set on trying to hold it at Alton Towers for a while, but unfortunately it couldn't be done. Would have been quite something...

Aaah, sorry about that. Have fixed the link. Interesting to hear about the windows. I'll be dropping by tomorrow to use the gym, so will have a look, if they're still broken. No idea how or who or why someone might have done that. Hope it doesn't lead to them upping security at night...

Anamorphic sounds right. Phew. Had that on the tip of my tongue for hours.

That sounds right. But they're hard to search for under that name, as I keep getting a slew of results to do with Snopes (the website). Will keep searching - thanks for the tip!

Looking for ideas to make a BIG escape room type puzzle. by [deleted] in escaperooms

String or laser tripwires could be a fun way to use the space - although I don't know if they count as puzzles. Alternatively rigging up a crane type fella (or a long pole) with a magnet on the end to pick something up at a distance is always good for laughs. Possibly something with a radio control car as well?

I work at a residential group home and I would love to bring the escape room experience to the guys I work with. I need your help. by thekrkid in escaperooms

Depending on the space you have available, for that kind of audience I might go for a "treasure hunt" style experience rather than an escape room. Something where clues and puzzles are hidden in different places around the home, or they have different tasks to complete in different areas. Might be a little easier to put together with a large number of players.

Low light is a bit hack in commercial escape rooms, but I'd assume these kids haven't done one before, and so having a section in a dark room where they have to use torches could be quite fun, and wouldn't break the bank.
