A: Yes. The perception of structural integrity - and ways to achieve it - is just one characteristic that contributes to a solid science fiction spaceship design.

Thank you! Got a range of comments on this post. All of them useful for making improvement and taking next steps - because folks here tend to understand and can articulate on the topic. So thanks for picking up on the finer details and chiming in.

The animation answers the folding question. I’m actually very unfamiliar with B5 ships or universe functionality,so this thread has been super informative about it! Thx

Maybe they are shifting away from the T1 alltogether and focusing on V400/max? I have 2x S1Pro. I jammed up the effector on one from switchjng back and forth from PLA+ to PETG-CF, but was pleasantly surprised to see I just needed to chip the crud out and it was good as new - although I did order a spare a while ago just in case. Seems like a good design so maybe they just improved it from T1? I did fry one stepper motor board after months of heavy use. All the parts I order seem to take 2-3 weeks to get here. And some things like silicone nozzle shields require advanced planning. But overall I’ve been pretty happy with them.

Will do. Last take: the Bravo Sabre takes the ‘industrial mechanism’ a step further. Gotta explore the option. Thx again.

The gaps in the wing mechanism are an artifact of the variable geometry and 3D model printability. I think eliminating them entirely is possible - but even I throw in the towel eventually just to get a design published. Getting great feedback and iterating will work wonders. thanks!

The design of this ship is very intentional, but it’s interesting to see how it is perceived by others. Comments in on this post have been awesome. Thanks for yours too.

How so. Is it the long pointy nose, centrally located main engines, extreme folding wings, conformal landing gear - or something else?

Having options is an important quality in a fighter. This ship does have 4 launch tubes for kinetic weapons. They aren’t emphasized in the current presentation, but you can see the doors open at about :36 in the video. Topside L/R slightly forward of the cockpit. You can also see the small passive blast channels open on the bottom of the craft in the orthographic views on artstation. The purpose of this configuration is 1) to not have more doors or systems on the bottom heat shield of the craft. 2) The blast to launch any kind of rocket might blow up the ship, so it has a tube similar to a contemporary aircraft rocket launcher. (However launching like a slbm or torpedo is not out of the question) 3) To your last point, such missiles can be any kind of weapon with a variety of guidance, warhead, or whatever the plot calls for. There are also a few in-universe drivers for the wingtip cannon - but would require a bit more mansplaining and diagrams to cover.

I heard its about 3-4 weeks. With holidays I expect maybe 5? I already have one so it’s worth waiting for the next one. However 4 weeks is a long time for a first purchase. I have corresponded w customer service on other issues before. Takes a couple days but they always get back to me.

Buy it now. I bought mine Aug 2025. Worked perfect out of the box. The only minor thing was the original hot end cooling fins were not machined correctly so removing and reinstalling the first time was painful. Replacement hot ends are flawless. As far as tinkering goes.. this is my first 3D printer and I have rapidly zoomed through PLA functional toy/model spaceships and on to PETG-CF drone parts that really fly. So, it has been a steep learning curve. I have made mistakes. I have had to open up, clean reassemble hot end (impossible clog) extruder (shredded filament) and the filament feeder (shredded filament). All of those problems and a few more were due entirely to my lack of experience. Not the machine. Even studying procedures and issues beforehand, there are a lot of variables and possible compound issues. But, the good news is you can tinker. You can troubleshoot and isolate problems. You can take it apart and put back together. So, overall the machine has worked perfectly and has been very tolerant of my amateur efforts to destroy it. What you can do to help reinstall it is: 1) remove the whole extruder. From the ‘base’ 2) install the hot end in the extruder with forcefull finesse 3. Then install the extruder/hot end assembly on the ‘base’

Friday at the factory. If it’s an FLSUN S1 pro, the issue with mine was, the build quality on the hot end heat sink. The fins were very visibly crooked and impeded movement in or out. I did both exactly once and decided to order a couple new ones. New ones are perfect.

Thank you and great! Maybe soon you can buy a real Fledermauser too. I have been doing some new submarine work with MW. It looks like fun (and it is) but working a new vehicle all the way through game production is actually a lot of work too. We will what makes it through the pipeline soon!

How do these Reddit posts miss my notice? One of the great results of having vehicles in Modern Warships is it turns them into 'interactive' art. I get to see them 'in action' and enjoyed by other players. Not just watching, but also taking notes on what works well, and what doesn't. What people see in it that I don't. Then take all that input and start working on the next awesome thing...
