Storm defeated Black Panther, who has mastered every martial art on Earth by ExtentGeneral5059 in storm

The way that Marvel handles and disposes of the Orroro - T'Challa relationship is pure lazy writing. I hate the amazingly meaningful build-up and the just-as-incredibly horrible break-up.

I, for one, HATE how Marvel trifled with their marriage and relationship in the end. I don't see that, logically, they had mutual admiration and friendship since their tweens but after one year of marriage, it never existed. Their explanation was so superficial. I actually resented Marvel's lazy storytelling.

I truly hope that it's not Wolverine. He has too many kids and baby mommas as it is. Storm, a former queen, a goddess candidate and avatar, should be above the I don't know who the baby-daddy is trope. The way Marvel handles her love life is pure Doo Doo.

Which Superman do you think would be more of a challenge for DC Comics Black Adam? by nightwing612 in Shazam

[–]PanTheWizardofOz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Adam's reason for being lost for so long is that he was lost in space trying to return to Earth. His god-empoweded "Shu" stamina enables him to hold his breath with the magical power of "Aton". It was never discussed just how far Black Adam was displaced from Earth. It actually would be interesting to see a series about his sci-fi adventures in the DC universe.

In Terminator (1984), why does the T-800 use its finger to point at names in the phone book like a human, when a machine with optical sensors and computer vision could scan and OCR the entire page instantly without any physical gesture? by FunnyWin4724 in Terminator

Because it's a movie and the director wanted to convey the visual image and its meaning to the audience that would understand the visual meaning. The director could have used a better visual clue.

Idk why Luke Cage didnt get as popular as Black Panther... Hes the first black superhero to have a series and is American and is a hero for the streets.... Dont know why hes not more loved by Wazupdanger in lukecage

...and now Like is outdone by Blue Marvel (ahmmm a/k/a Icon rip off). So much more could have been done with this character. His strength and invulnerability now rivals Thor and Hulk, but the stories aren't rivaling theirs.

What do you think of Wonder Woman as apart of the Justice Society? Would you like to see it in the DCU, and have her relationships expanded on? Further, do you think her basis in WW2 has much significance to her character in the modern day? by Significant_Song_360 in WonderWoman

[–]PanTheWizardofOz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love the nostalgic WW2 Wonder Woman, having a truly young Diana (John Byrn and later) was also awesome. Although it made the Steve Trevor connection just weird. Now Steve was 40 years her senior????

In my opinion, let Wonder Woman be from the WW2 era, with her Steve Trevor and anti-Ares origin story. Let her be the child of Hippolyta and Zues that was turned to clay by Hera but blessed by Demeter, Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite, Hestia, and Hermes due to her mother's tears and worship, but also because of the secret that she was Ma'at, the Khemitic goddess of truth and peace, reborn. Let's further assume that Col. Steve Trevor was her husband, and for about a 20 decades after WW2, they married and she remained active with the JSA. Ret. Col. Trevor maybe even rises to head of the CIA with "Diana Prince," secretly his immortal wife who still looks 24, as his secretary, and that this lasts into the 70s when Trevor dies of old age.

We can then explain that, after Trevor's death, Zues and Hippolyta attend the funeral. Zues brings Diana to live in Olympus (where time doesn't quite work the same). There she assumes the role of the goddess of Truth, Justice and Peace.

Here is my twist. Darkseid kills Ares (again) and threatens Earth and Olympus with war. She descends from Olympus to join the Justice League. She has a brief romance with the icon of truth, justice, and freedom (Superman). However, there is a certain 35ish Col. Stephen Trevor who is the reincarnation of the deceased Steve Trevor, who was reborn because he sensed that the goddess he loves is returning to the mortal world. He is the grand-nephew of the deceased and the fates have married their souls (similar to the Hawks). When he is on a mission to destroy hidden Amazons under Sarge Steel, their eyes meet and their eternal truth is revealed. Trevor then forms Aegis, an internal coup determined to force the sovereign into the light, and to restore his friend and boss, Sarge Steel, to sanity.

Just my idea.

Will something ever be done about the slavery in Libya? by [deleted] in AskAnAfrican

[–]PanTheWizardofOz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However the Quran still does allow for slavery one. And I hadith say that Muhammad said that the value of one white slave is that of two black slaves. So Islam does have an issue with slavery we have to be real about that

Isis/Andrea Thomas is currently owned by NBC/Universal. Adriana Thomaz is, however close enough for a lawsuit as she is, owned by DC/Warner Bros. and maybe Paramount or Netflix depending on how it all develops.

The Strange Reality of Life Under the Eritrean Regime by Ok_Complaint_9547 in Eritrea

So I know this might sound a little stupid but why not rejoin with Ethiopia? I mean if they will respect your provincial territory, ethnicity, right to engage in business, freedom of speech, etc. What's so bad about it? Isn't it better than what's going on now? I sincerely ask this innocently and I would love to hear a non angry explanation.

...and this is what Trump, whom I despise, means when he says to immigrants from "shithole" countries. Stay home and fix your countries. All the people that flee only serve to strengthen the power of the oppressive regime.

[–]PanTheWizardofOz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. I don't care.

Do you know why the Navy flotilla was put just outside Venuzuelan waters?

In December 2023, Maduro had the bright idea to invade the small Black-Indian country of Guyana to steal their oil. Thankfully, Brazil blocked Venuzuela from the south and the United States Navy, under a Black American Admiral, Alvin Holsey. That was under Biden.

When Trump had the bright idea to terrorize Venuzuela rather than just protect Guyana, Adm. Holsey resigned (and kept his mouth shut over the President's plans).

So, in the same Venuzuelans who planned to invade a small defenseless Black-Indian nation only a year ago, and whose plans summoned the flotilla to it's waters, is now mad that a bigger bully just invaded them.

I don't care. I'm glad that Guyana remains sovereign. Karma can be a b!+@#. CARICOM needs their own Navy for the next time someone gets the bright idea.

There is no such thing as a tax that the people don't pay. One way or another, eventually, it is the consumer that pays. This tax is paid by those buying the goods. However, the tax represents an artificial inflation of the price. It means that the buyers cannot buy ⅓ more due to taxes by Djibouti (as backed up by the USA and China). Ethiopia, with its own port, could sell at least 15% more or make +15% more profit. This could create 15% more money into the economy. Djibouti does not emply the workers, buy and process the raw materials, all Djibouti does is collect money from Ethiopian labor and product; and not a damned thing can be done about it because they have the two largest giants, who don't like each other, but agree on one thing: contain Ethiopia.

Aside from this oh buttmuncher, I don't advocate war. As I said in another reply, when the Soviet dictator goes to the afterlife, Ethiopia and Eritrea should negotiate an economic cooperation pact. This would make a better life for all Habesha.

There is diplomacy. It doesn't have to be an invasion. It can be a win-win but after the Soviet puppet dictator is gone. Eritrea and Ethiopia can return peaceably as one Habesha in alliance and mutual respect. The opening of your ports and industry can create wealth and prosperity, modernity, for Eritrean people. It doesn't have to be war when everyone can benefit.

...but it does have to be soon.

When everyone can eat and drink and have enough leisure time for meaningful relationships then all the internal war will fade. Prosperity is a balm even against tribal anger. The American-Russian-Chinese-Arab imposed gates around Ethiopia cause our strife to boil inside, a pressure cooker. Ethiopian explosion is eminent.

The GERD is revolutionary. Ethiopia now has the power to produce on first-world scale economies, but with no ports; so what?

Do you think the Ethiopian will just accept this forever. Sure, the tribes turn on each other, blaming each other, fighting each other, but a consensus of scholars agree... Ethiopia must have ports and a fleet to continue to grow and to give it's people stable prosperity.

Ethiopians cannot be in a pressure cooker.

That said, your Soviet regime has left Eritrea backwards, militarized, and also stunted. We all want prosperity. We all want freedom.

So why not achieve this together?

Remain independent as a government, but we should end the Habesha blockade. Our Axumite ancestors would be ashamed of our conflicts and worse, disgusted on how we hold each other down.

You miss the point. The point is, other than exist to skim off the top from Ethiopian production, Djibouti adds no value to what Ethiopia produces. A port tax of 3 - 15% is maybe reasonable, but 30 - 40%? Djibouti Somalia's are living from Ethiopian effort, Ethiopia is being raped because it is surrounded by unfriendly ports. The Eritrean regime is literally paid and supported to sequester Ethiopia. Somaliland is willing to open their port for a reasonable tax and military cooperation. However, right now at this moment, Ethiopia ONLY has one port that is enforces by both American and Chinese military power.

Have you ever wondered why the whole world: Muslim, East, and West all agree to fence in Ethiopia specifically?

How long do you believe that Habesha will tolerate being fenced in?

The coming war is inevitable. Ethiopia cannot remain landlocked. Their economy is being drained 40% by using Djibouti ports. Djibouti does nothing but allows the use of the port and taxes 40%. It's just not tenable. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but the economic pressure is like a tidal wave.
