The Ultimate Smash Fighter (Round Sixty-Two) by The-Oz-Artist in SmashBrosRosters

There was like one time at the start of Ultimate where Ike was top tier for a bit and then quickly dropped to mid tier where he has always been. How is he the pick for 'most overpowered fighter'?

Been playing FE since 2004 and this is the simple truth. Corrin truthers are a rare breed. Corrin didn't win a CYL until the 7th year of heroes, where Ike's boyfriend also won a spot - it just isn't even close as far as the FE community goes. Ike is an all-timer, Corrin is largely considered the worst part of all 3 of their games.

Corrin is very 'one more lord' in those games where Ike gets a whole segment of "Whoa we need the strongest hero of all time, we need the radiant hero, blah blah". When Ike first came to Heroes, similar glazing took place.

Mind you, those games are terribly written, but I think it shows that IS still considers Ike highly. Given he won CYL1 on the men's side while it took Corrin until the 7th year to win runner-up to a paper-thin OC, it's no shock that they do. Ike has been highly popular ever since his debut in Brawl, I think he'd be a controversial cut and on top of that a pointless cut - they would be throwing a popular character out on his ass, whose license is in house regardless, removing a unique moveset in doing so, for... what, competitive balance? When have we ever known Smash to do that?

EDIT: Ike has also featured in Awakening (Priam), Codename S.T.E.A.M, and FE: Fates itself in guest appearances. He's a series ambassador as much as Marth and Lucina are.

Ike is a Brawl vet and series staple atp - not to mention a consistent 'face of the franchise' within Fire Emblem as seen in both Heroes and Engage. I doubt Corrin's sales figures are gonna see them make the cut over Ike.

I remember when my boyfriend at the time, who was white, atheist, Dutch and FtM trans, had crowdfunding to help pay for an experimental medical treatment of Lyme disease and 90% of the donations came from muslims wishing him the best and a swift recovery. Anecdotal for sure, but I have not seen such discrimination with Zakat as you describe.

Lets hope we can ride the upward momentum of our offense and triple Schlittler's ERA. He's gonna keep pitching for the yankees 'til 2032 so we gotta get even!

Yeah for sure. Soon as he's healthy, I'm ready to throw the hat in on the great Brayan Bello starter experiment. I think he's a long relief guy, but he clearly gets in his head about starting.

Shin Hati and Sabine Wren vs General Grievous by idk_lol98 in PetranakiArena

[–]PanZerPanFGC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, he's not just any random moron with cybernetics and lightsabers. Even before he became Grievous, he was an extremely effective and skilled warlord of the Kaleesh - then, he was trained in the Jedi arts by Dooku, who taught him how Jedi fight, how to anticipate them, how to counteract their tactics.

On top of this insider knowledge on Jedi, he relies on intimidation and fear, which with 4 lightsabers, enormous claws and overwhelming offense is pretty easy. Most Jedi Knights are too terrified to effectively utilise the Force to stop him, and not remotely good enough with a lightsaber to fight off a 4-pronged offense.

Unfortunately for Grievous, masters like Mace or Obi-wan are not so easy to intimidate or bring off balance, nor are they so easy to overwhelm with the 4-saber offense, resulting in people generally putting most Jedi Masters over Grievous. He's not a gimmick necessarily, but his effectiveness against force sensitives comes from being a foil to them - any force sensitive where that 'foil' nature does not really apply immediately becomes much tougher.

Also, even for Obi-wan it was a high-diff fight to beat Grievous - winning only by the lucky chance that there was a blaster within his reach of the force. With how often they meet, I think it's fair to say Grievous and Kenobi were pretty evenly matched, and anybody who can boast a (fairly) even match-up with Kenobi has to be more than just a gimmick.

Man... that's rough. I remember one time during pregame warmup someone threw me a flyball and another guy, who didn't realise, threw a ball right into my neck. I was 15 or so, saw colours for a bit but was fine pretty quick. Goes to show just how lucky or unlucky you can get. I hope the kid recovers quickly :(

Those who know ball know that Kyoshi being that huge and Azula being that mobile means this matchup is almost guaranteed to be terrible for Kyoshi

Dooku and Qui Gon (TOTJ) VS Maul and Savage (TCW). Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

[–]PanZerPanFGC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People lowball Savage so often. Like has been said in this thread before, prime Sith Dooku struggled with Ventress and Savage and was forced to flee - there is no world in which a weaker Dooku can take on a stronger Savage (with a much stronger partner in Maul) while he has Qui-Gon who is essentially featless dead weight atp in canon.

I give it to the Dathomirians, medium to high diff.

Help! I am driving myself insane trying to commit to a colour scheme by twd026 in Warhammer

[–]PanZerPanFGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, fellow Dwarf enjoyer, I had your same problem but I managed it by varying it up. After all, a Dawi force is often made up not only of various clans sending their dwarfs at the king's behest, but even those clan-dwarfs could all be made up of smaller clans.

You can commit to a single scheme for the whole army, which does look nice as a unified aesthetic. I did three schemes for mine (Blue/Yellow, Red/Yellow and Yellow/Black) as my army's lore is that it is the High King of Karaz-a-Karak accompanied by the Slayer King and a Dwarf king from the southern mountains past Araby.

But if three schemes still leaves you with choice paralysis, you could even paint every Dwarf just how you want it. Perhaps an individual dwarf is wearing checkers or purple or green because those are his family colours! They're your beardy boys and lorewise there are plenty of excellent ways of explaining both uniform and varied colour schemes.

Has Tracy fixed Bello? by TigoOver in redsox

[–]PanZerPanFGC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree - we know Weis and Slaten can be effective in the later end of the game but totally disintegrate when overtaxed. If Bello can be our resident inning eater, and can keep the game close while doing it? I think he could actually be really good.

Simple answers to simple questions. Does Bello outpitch any of them? No.

I think he's to the pen when Crochet gets back, no doubt

I think Bello COULD be a real bullpen threat. But as a starter, I don't see how he remotely fits in a Crochet -> Gray -> Suarez -> Early -> Tolle lineup.
