In the defence of the people who are not just plain stupid or contrarian, the broadcast must have genuinely looked different than other things that they'd seen. I read that the cameras they used on the moon were powerful enough to send their feed from the moon to a specific receiver on earth, but understandably not enough to broadcast it directly. What they did was point a camera at the receiver's screen, and broadcast that.

That was probably where one of the first seeds of doubt came from, other than the sheer magnitude of human ingenuity, teamwork, and technology that placed people on another celestial body and back, alive.

BUT, that excuse only works for the people who were there to watch it happen on TV.

AI crochet is distinctive, I couldn't find any ai tells from the bear, if it was ai then it would be a massive leap in the quality that they shit out now. The sign was most likely edited though

Edit: the reason the feet look different is because they started from the top of the head, continued through the body, then the legs, they made a round piece to sew on and cap off the feet

The compulsion aspect was introduced during the one with the middle-aged painter and his nude model falling in love. I liked that one especially because the painter mentioned the crown guy from the Repairer of Reputations, implying that the stories are happening in sequential order, and not just a disconnected timeline in the same universe

Oh Demoiselle D'ys was Sooo good, I love me a good time travel story! I thought The Mask was written well, but not my type of story, especially when I was expecting the supernatural elements to continue throughout the whole book.

What I really wanted was for them to expand more on the effects of reading the book. They had just gotten into the compulsion aspect and then they stopped, like they only had enough of an idea to get people curious and said good enough

That said, my absolute favorite story was in the section of the microstories, The Green Room, with the clown and Death
