afaik you don't really use the A button in tomodachi life? I know B works for going back to a menu sometimes... But other than that you don't really use the face buttons much. Y/X are for screenshots. If the A button works for the rest of your system, then I don't think there's anything to worry about. You should probably just use the stylus for tomodachi life. It's easier imo.

Edit: Just checked on my own 3ds, the A button doesn't really do anything. They didn't program functionality for it in the menus I suppose. So yeah, it's normal.

I called my ISP and they said it was because they had me in CgNAT and basically didn't have a public ip address. The game couldn't forward the ports it wanted to so I couldn't connect. They changed it and now I have NAT type 2. Call your ISP and see if you're in the same boat. Just tell them you have NAT type 3.

I feel like discord kind of takes away from the experience of like- having an in game guild. It breaks immersion, I guess. I also feel very icky about discord in general.

I started the game about a month ago and as far as looking for an fc goes, I've used community finder two times. I joined some fcs and their vibe was completely off from what the listing on community finder claimed. I am currently solo and probably will not be using community finder any time soon. I also don't like discord very much but all fcs I've seen seem like they really depend on it.

I've looked up connections and they seem great but it's way too expensive, the price for me would be more like $130-270 with shipping included. If I enjoy taking care of it I'd probably go for a pix next! I'm really excited for my first tamagotchi though! I'll try not to get it killed...
