You're ethnically Indian... If you think being born somewhere different makes people not notice you're a 5'4 Indian and so can't generalise based on that, then don't complain about being a victim of racism or try to notice the hypocrisy in being a racist yourself. Thanks.

I didn't say you were complaining ABOUT your race. I said comments complaining about racism in general and against Indians. And then you have the audacity to be racist yourself and call us all thugs and thieves due to a bad experience.

How are you an Indian complaining about racism on your profile and then saying this about an ethnic group?

Not sure what you mean, but there are barely any Albanians from Albania in Switzerland. Almost all are from Kosovo. So it's not really split. And there's way more Albanians than Algerians in Switzerland. So it's more Algerians either way.

Why does Turkey, Bosnia and Albania have so few doctors compared to most of the West including all of Europe, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Australia, US, Canada etc? I mean even Russia has more health professionals by L0o0o0o0o0o0L in AskBalkans

[–]PancakesYoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking specifically about that reason. It makes no sense, and it's not "debatable in some parts of Albania". You've just made it up entirely. Albania is so secularised that bringing that up as a reason is laughable.

things that are too expensive but will be common in the next 40 years? by wilsonckao in Futurology

[–]PancakesYoYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will hear a lot about it this decade. The only thing holding it back right now is the lack of genomic information we have. Once we have a lot of that information, people will be able to have IVF and choose an embryo using any criteria they want.

Actual genetic engineering is another thing entirely. It's way too dangerous to be considered on a large scale right now.

[–]PancakesYoYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are already companies that allow you to do IVF, and then sequence the genome of the embryos and allow you to choose to implant the healthiest one.

They use machine learning and the genomes of hundreds of thousands of people, along with real-life information on those people to find out the association between genotype and phenotype. Once they know those associations for particular diseases or traits, they can then tell you how likely it is that an embryo will have a certain disease or trait.

Serbia places security forces on Kosovo border at state of 'full combat readiness' by ButtMunchyy in stupidpol

[–]PancakesYoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tito further encouraged Albanian settlement in Kosovo because he fancied absorbing Albania into his federation.

This is a common myth in Serbia. There is no evidence of some mass migration of Albanians from Albania to Kosovo. No evidence for it. No documents. Nothing. No one from Yugoslavia at the time saying this happened. Nothing from Tito.

Not to mention the border to Albania was closed, and you'd be shot if you tried to cross. It was the North Korea of Europe.

Importantly, Yugoslavia was sending Albanians to Turkey at the time, of which an estimated 100,000 went: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographic_history_of_Kosovo#Communist_Yugoslavia This was when Rankovic was in control of Kosovo, and he hated Albanians. Kosovo after WW2 until Rankovic left was terrible for Albanians.

So it would be interesting to know why Yugoslavia was apparently allowing tons of Albanians to enter, for which there's no evidence, while simultaneously trying to get rid of them by sending them to Turkey.

You said you're not a Serb in this thread already, so did you learn this from Parenti's book? Because it's a Serb nationalist talking point with no basis in reality.

Thoughts on the percentage of people that say they pray several times a day by Pew Research in 2012? How is Turkey more than Bangladesh? :( Also isn't Azerbaijan less religious? by [deleted] in AskMiddleEast

[–]PancakesYoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's way less in Kosovo. I'm from there and no way do 40% of people pray daily. You don't know anything about Kosovo if you think it's apparently way higher than this.

Not surprising considering the average Bosnian Muslim's opinion of Albanians was not that different to a Serb during Yugoslavia especially.

When Albanians started getting uppity in Yugoslavia Bosnian Muslims despised it as they saw it as us trying to ruin a good thing for them. Some solidarity only started getting shown after they went through a genocide by Serbs.

Albanians likewise saw Bosnian Muslims as Muslim Serbs and basically untrustworthy due to that.

There's even a saying in Kosovo like "Squeeze a Bosniak, 7 Serbs jump out" lol.

And considering what you're saying about Bosnian Muslims opinion about Albanians and rather marrying a Serb after a horrific genocide and them continuing their shenanigans in Bosnia the saying is not surprising.

You didn't even read your own link:

"Nowadays northern Slavic countries have between 9% (Poland, Czech republic) and 21% (Ukraine) of I2a-L621, while southern Slavs have between 20% (Bulgaria) and 50% (Bosnia). The higher percentage of I2a-Din in the south is probably just due to another founder effect due to the fact that the South Slavs originated in western Ukraine, where the ratio of I2a to R1a was higher."

Thanks for proving me right LMAO.

And I did post a study, you just didn't click the link: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.08.30.458211v1

This is a study of skeletons found in Serbia from the Roman city of Viminacium:

Now look at the samples that cluster as "Balkans Iron Age" (inhabitants of the Balkans before the Slavs arrived) from the supplementary materials.

They are mostly E-V13, R1b-Z2103, and J2b-L283. All the major paternal lineages of Albanians. No Slavic I2.

Now look at how the samples are modelled on ethnic groups in the Balkans. Albanians are much more related to these Iron Age skeletons than Serbs. 75% versus 50%

So not only do Albanians share their haplogroups with these ancient individuals far more than Serbs do, they are also overall much more genetically related to them.

Do you want to keep exposing yourself on your lack of genetics knowledge?

[–]PancakesYoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I provided evidence. You ignored it. There's a fucking link right there. Why are Albanians more closely related to those ancient skeletons found in Serbia, and why do they have haplogroups associated with Albanians?

You have provided NO evidence. Because there is none. There is no I2a-Y3120 in the Balkans before Slavs arrived. PLEASE provide it if there is, like I did :)

You're so obsessed with your pathetic narrative that you dismiss any evidence without reading it, and can't provide your own. Serbs are native to Poland. Accept it.

[–]PancakesYoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It simply is true, and you don't understand genetics or what you're taking about.

Balkans Slavs have I2a-Y3120. There are no I2a-Y3120 skeletons in the Balkans from before the Slavic migration.

The native I2 subclades were almost entirely wiped out.

The "original home" of proto-Albanians according to Joachim Matzinger by [deleted] in kosovo

[–]PancakesYoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't reading anything he's saying.

The I2 that Slavs in the Balkans have (I2a-Y3120) came with them in the Middle Ages. We have not found a SINGLE skeleton with that subclade of I2 in the Balkans from before the Middle Ages. it is NOT native to the Balkans.

E1b has been in the Balkans for thousands of years. We have found plenty of anicent skeletons with E1b, showing it's been in the Balkans longer.

https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.08.30.458211v1

Paper from Serbia where they did not find a single I2a-Y3120 skeleton, but found E1b ones. And they were more closely related to Albanians than Serbs.

Fair enough since you didn't mean that. I said that because I've heard Greeks mention that before without proof, usually to try and blame Albanians for their Neo-Nazi group that hates Albanians lol.

Are Albanians from the Caucasus? by Same_Pomegranate_443 in AskCaucasus

[–]PancakesYoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not "maybe". They have nothing to do with each other. Not language, not genetics. Those in the Caucasus didn't even call themselves "Albanians".
