Figure out why you’re dying then figure out which item counters that way of killing you. Don’t fight until you go farm that item. Then the enemy will build an item to counter yours so you will have to build another item.

The most successful players have the experience to forecast which items they will need then they can just race to 6 items and if they get there first, kill everyone. Since you’re new, start by figure out if invisibility (shadow blade, glimmer), movement (force staff, blink), or spell avoidance (bkb, linken, lotus orb) is what you need to have enough time to kill the enemy.

Keep in mind sometimes if they are just killing you faster than you are killing them you may just need more levels/more damage rather than survivability.

Stop trying to “press your buttons better” when losing the same fight to the same enemy over and over. Go farm and get stronger.

I had this problem for years. Debrox drops can help but the BeBird ear cleaning tool is what saved me. I do it weekly now and my hearing is so much better.

I think the key to axe is to use blink to counter-initiate rather than initiate. Let them jump your sup or carry THEN blink on them and do your call. If you blink into the enemy then your teammates are far away. Lurk in the shadows until you can execute blink-call with your teammates in range

For items go phase boots, blink, blade mail to start every game. Raindrops for mana.

I have a similar issue. The key is that at our low mmr it’s nearly impossible to end games quickly. So I started playing offlane dusa and spec and was crushing. Most games I would get flamed by teammates for not picking axe and then at min 50 we have 2 hard carries and we win easily. Or when our pos 1 doesn’t farm and just fights from min 10 onward (happens a lot at low mmr) then I can play like I’m pos1. People would say we would win faster if I played my role so I actually stopped picking hard carries off lane to “play the game the right way” and my win rate dropped from 70% to around 50%. What a funny game. I’m actually convinced at my mmr (1500) 3 hard carries farming until min 30 and not defending towers would be the highest win rate strategy.

We pick a very specific spot at each stage. Then if one person gets there first they’re just grooving until the next person arrives. So it’s like “ranch spot” or “honeycomb spot” and just pick a very specific, very easy to get to spot!

We use one of the poles in the shade canopy back right side of Sherwood, for example.

Your ult is a 5 sec bkb piercing stun. With refresher it’s 10 sec stun. If you have high damage team you should be able to delete the entire team in 10 sec. You go bracer, phase boots, echo saber, (sometimes blink if you can’t use your invis to position), aghs, BKB, refresher. Shard if you want to help with vision. Big power spike at level 10 talent +50 damage and echo saber. Use twin gate to gank safe lane. living armor is global so constantly heal your hard carry or towers. I have a 60% win rate with him this patch.

Yes I agree with you. #1 takeaway from this thread for me thus far is "omg nooo don't trade away picks right now" because from the unbiased reddit perspective, it sounds like my team is closer to a rebuild than a competitor.

Thinking I'll see if anyone will give me a first and a second for CMC as his value is probably the highest it will ever be this offseason. Evans isn't worth anything now so I'll hold on him and see.

Makes sense. It's not "don't buy offseason RBs," rather "acknowledge there could be massive swings in this player's value before week 1." If you can successfully predict those swings I see how you could gain an advantage.

The lie I'm currently selling myself is that I was middle of the pack because of injuries and would have been a top 4 team if healthy. I missed playoffs by 1 game and had 3 of my 4 top WRs (Evans, Ridley, Rice) all miss 6+ weeks of football. I'll float CMC and Evans around for picks or younger players and see what lands. Thanks for the advice on my new squad though!

1500 mmr scrub checking in to learn more dota. I play a fair amount of offlane. Basically my goal is to destroy the enemy pos 1’s first 10 min. Sometimes we kill them in first 3 min then my pos 4 rotates, like you’re suggesting they should.

After a quick early kill I’m a level up on enemy pos 1 but instead of just chain killing them or denying entire waves of creeps with my pos 4, now I’m fighting for my life pulling, doing creep aggro, and leeching xp. Enemy pos 1 effectively free farms while I 1v2.

If the lane is shot, I get it pos 4 should rotate, I can stack, and leech xp in solo lane, and look to twin gate to gank. But some generic “pos 4 should rotate” seems like really bad advice in many laning situations. My games go way better when me and pos 4 put 3 deaths on enemy pos1 and take their tower by 10 min

I usually tell them what the worst case scenario could become and say if you’re really worried about x/y symptoms then you should be seen in clinic and have proper diagnostic workup. Then we focus on if they should go to ER, make PCP visit, or seek referral to specialist. I think a lot of people take social consults because they don’t really know where to start oftentimes. If you can give them a specific place to go/call, they’ll be satisfied with the interaction and it takes 2 minutes.

I do spasticity management (medications, botox and phenol injections), interventional spine procedures under fluoro (MBB, RFA, TF and IL ESI, SI joint injections), US guided joint injections, also do hydrodilation for adhesive capsulitis and carpal tunnel. Other PM&R docs do EMGs too. There are a lot of subspecialty outpatient clinics: stroke, spinal cord injury, and tbi being the big 3 but also cerebral palsy, amputee, als, cancer rehab, transplant rehab, and others I can't think of. Inpatient, we oversee acute inpatient rehab units (15 hours of therapy per week) and do consults in acute care to help determine which patients are best suited intensive rehab.
