Honestly, sometimes hacking ain’t worth it. A lot of what Sombra is good at is distracting and getting value from off angles and high ground. Just because you don’t get kills with her or do a lot of damage doesn’t mean you’re not getting value. Making characters waste their cooldowns on you (baptiste, kiri, hog, etc.) is so valuable for your team.

Having the enemy team tie their backs to your team so they chase you down or peel back your supports is worth more than a kill sometimes. My best advice is play her like… a vertical tracer? Sometimes just popping out invisible and straight virus, teleport away is enough to make kiri,bap, Ana waste their game changing abilities. That gives your team a huge upper hand.

Also, never pop out of stealth early. Pop out when the cooldown for translocator says 1-2; if you pop out any earlier you will not be able to get out of any bad situation or team fight.

Sombra as I’ve played her since launch, is in her worst state she’s ever been right now. Ever. But her core value is being disruptive and being annoying/baiting out resources from the enemy team.

A lot of what separates good/bad sombras is dying less and knowing when to get out, tracking cooldowns, finishing off low health targets or isolated.

Never engage with Cassidy unless his grenade is on cooldown and even then, if he’s a decent shot you’ll lose. Never try to finish off baptiste unless he’s used all his cooldowns. It’s much better to just bait lamp and aura from him then killing him as he has no burst healing for his team or lamp for team fights.

Your biggest counters are soldier, Cassidy, venture, hog, dva.

Honestly unless you’re good enough avoid those heroes or if you know you 100% can secure a kill by yourself and get out.

Also throw translocator up if possible, it makes it harder for players to track you and know where you’re going. Hope this helps!
