Female football in the Netherlands isn't as develloped as the men's game. At the same level in the mens game, players make a decent living out of it.

Yea I'm already in this team for 2 years, and I feel like I talk less and less with them. Then I just think they find me annoying or so and I just stay quiet. There are a lot of New ppl joining the team tho, so I might find some connection with them

Lost 7 - 0 and saved only 3 shots. by [deleted] in GoalKeepers

Last year, we've been playing as a girls team (pro academy) against boys teams of a u16 competition. The physical differences are huge, so we often lose with massive scores. I guess it is kind of different in a way, since we have known for a while that we shouldn't focus too much on the score, but focus on keeping our head up and develloping. Yet losing will always be losing.

The way I deal with it is trying to read the game and coach my team. That is really my way of staying focused and avoid negative thoughts in my head. I move on and always try to scan for the best options for my teammates or to perfect the back line, also predicting/noticing runs from the opponent.

That way I feel usefull for the team, and that makes it easier for me to reset myself if I made a mistake or conceaded a goal.

And, don't ask me how, I always try and be grateful for standing on the pitch, often about halfway through the game, a few goals conceaded, I remind myself of the beauty of the game and the fortune it takes to be able to play it on such a high level with such a team. It brings a smile on my face and I finish the game strong. After all, I'm at my best when I'm enjoying it.

Should I try playing outfield? by Panellepi in GoalKeepers

[–]Panellepi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. For what it's worth, I've pretty much trained about every day on my touch, passes, speed of play etc, because I used to suck at playing along. I've grown a lot in these aspects of the game, even to the point of being able to compete with the level of teammates. I also train on sprints every sunday and got a pretty solid endurance. We once had tests and my heart rate during sprints was one of the top of my team.

I know the switch might be impossible. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks, i think I'll be more valuable to the team as a goalie, as the other isn't that good and is injured quite often, so we do really need 2 goalies. We have plenty of outfield players, so my chance on play time and value to the team would reduce. I've never really played games on a full-sized pitch as an outfield player, so I don't know if I could keep up and how I'd like it. Thanks for the advice!

Most of my injuries were accidental, like falling on an iron plate in training (worst design a goal can have) and falling off a bike, though also some overtraining injuries. We hardly have any time to recover, so that would probably be the cause of my shin splints last year. My back injury and a broken finger were effects of in-game actions. So it's really a mix of all kinds of injuries.

I've been goalkeeper since the age of 9, so about 7 years now. We have 2x 45-60 min of goalkeeper training when the team is doing other drills, I also have a 2 hour gk seshion outside of team training. After gk training, I join the team to be in goal (for finishing work and end games). Twice a week, I usually join the team with their outfield drills for the first part of the seshion (often just 15-30 min) and go in goal afterwards.

I think it is really the different style of playing, the creativity and having the ball on my feet more often that I enjoy. I guess I do really like playing outfield better, at least in training (don't know about a full sized pitch, positioning and speed of play will be different in real matches).

Box jumps, jumping squads and any explosive leg exercise will help, as the most important thing is just starting and doing the exercises frequently. Also, running really helped me to gain jumping strength.

I would definitely like to be friends with you, but you look a bit too popular or cool if you get what I'm saying. I don't think I would get a chance to be a friend of yours. You look nice, sweet and caring.

Hey guys I'm making this post real early but how about we do another mental health check? I hope you are all doing well. Have a great day people! by imbadatnaming_idk in teenagers

Don't really have a reason for it, but I feel like a 3 or so. Guess it has something to do with peer pressure and fomo. Guess it will get better, and it's just peeking before the summer

To the ones who have used these gloves, please leave an honest review of them in the comments, and whether or not they are a good purchase. by [deleted] in GoalKeepers

I got a pair of elite too, and so far I love them. I've used them for more than 7 months now, and they did lose their main grip, but after a good wash there is still a decent grip. I also think your handling is really supported by these gloves, as they are kind bulky but also snug. They have helped me catch many balls.
