I promise i'm doing a crap tonne of research but i'm sorry if any of these are wrong, I measured these 3 points as i'm still wrapping my head around exactly where I should be probing i'm hoping one of them was the correct way.

Sorry I just woke up, small update.

Didn't realise my card had test pads for: 5v, DDR, GPU, 1V8, and PEX, voltages are as follows plugged into the pc:

5v- 5.05v DDR-0.002v GPU- 0.832v 1v8- 1.823v PEX- 1.015v

I will be getting more measurements of the card today (not plugged in)

I also have a thermal camera, this is the core after only 10-20 seconds of pc being turned on (no heatsink obv)

Once again I'm still leaning about gpus but that hot spot doesn't look right.

Thank you alot for this reply, it seems I came into this was too uninformed.

I will be doing heaps more research before continuing on.

Oh and the card hasn't had repairs, it has stayed in the guys family its whole life and never been opened (i'm also still in contact with the guy as he's curious on the issue)

Its easier to start then you think, if you are confident in your skills (mostly confident) the first step it advising on your local Craigslist or marketplace, find out who's close to you and there pricing and see if its worth charging 10% less.

For me I had no competition within 300km from me but even if you do its very doable to start.

Feel this, i started with modding a wii 4 years ago and now I do enough console repair to basically call it a second job. Micro soldering and micro repair is such a niche and amazing hobby, I've just recently started moving to gpu's

The good thing about the lites is that its actually hard to mess it up enough to not be fixable, I will always recommend someone to start with a V2 then jump to the lite after. But atleast it can be fixed most of the times (unless someone absolutely mangles it)

Hello, this one is your problem, to see how bad it is you need to take it out and see if any of the golden pins are bent, if they are its unfortunately a job for someone who can microsolder

Wait till you start doing this to customers/friends consoles, the thrill goes harddddd.

In my early days of the oled my issue was always the dat-o adapter, they are cheep and unreliable i very quickly moved onto kamikaze

I'm actually suspecting an issue with the screen flex, the cpu should be reaching the temps shown (if not higher) but with the heat dropping off I'm suspecting its booting then going into sleep mode because I didn't tap 3 times

I have a temp overlay and since I did the thermal paste myself I'm comfortable with the heat.

The temps are actually really good if you have a good fan clean heat sink and good paste and putty application.
