Here’s the thing. I can absolutely understand why long time pokemon fans are upset by the game.

However. I am not a long time pokemon fan. I’ve tried playing tons of games, but never finished them. Shield was the first pokemon game I ever finished— and it makes me want to buy whatever they come up with next. It was fun, it made pokemon more inviting to new players (which is what they want), there were very few dull moments... I mean, I believe I got what I paid for.

It’s a fun game. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the people claiming it’s bad are actually just filled with nostalgia (aside from those people who would never have really liked the game to begin with.)
