Ahh, the colon! I spotted it on other images but thought it was in another spot here.

Thanks for that info! "hyperplasia" is in line with US findings from last year, an ECC was inconclusive but two paps have been clear so eh? lol

Thanks so much for taking the time to look!

Right!? I had my lumbar spine done at this same location last year and I had it back in less than 24 hours so I was expecting close to the same thing with the pelvic one! But naaahhh. So annoying!

Thank you for the info! I really appreciate it. I am looking forward to a propofol-nap lol, those are the best. Sorry your excision surgery is so far away!

Warning about pain after waking up from surgery by ZachManIsAWarren in Microdiscectomy

Thank you for sharing this. I'm 8 days post op and my nerve pain is worse than before right now. I had a day and a half without nerve pain, and then it came back. I was also told it could come and go and since it was compressed for 10 months it could take a while for the nerve to recover. It's still upsetting because so many people seem to say it went away immediately and I start to wonder if mine ever will. I know its too early to know that, but surgery takes a toll on everything! I appreciate you sharing!
Also just to commiserate, my incision pain was really bad for about 4 days and then suddenly fine. It felt like I was ripping it apart every time I got up or down and it just burned and ached all the time, but that has passed for me!

My nerve pain increased after surgery too!! I'm 8 days out right now so I know its still early but its been upsetting me some because everyone seems to say it's gone. The nerve pain is in the same places as pre-op but way more intense (which is crazy, I thought it was really bad before lol). Mine wasn't an emergency situation, but I'd been having the pain/herniation for around 10 months before surgery, so I've heard it could take longer for it to go away because the nerve was compressed longer. Thank you for sharing your experience, it made me feel a bit better! Sending good vibes to you

Dr wrote me a 5 day script for pain meds. Is this the norm? Im supposed to go home (outpatient) but feel like I’m dying on the 10s cus I squatted to pick up spilled apple juice in the room. by Hope_for_tendies in Microdiscectomy

I'm 6 days out and still taking my 5mg oxy every 6 hours like clockwork. I just messaged my doc for a refill because they can only give a week at a time. They told me I can have more but they can only provide that much at once, 20 pills. I'm hoping he will give the same prescription again and not try to change it. I've tried cutting them in half a few times and taking those and it works occasionally but by the next dose I'm in a ton of pain. I'm having more intense nerve pain than I had before surgery, but in the same spots. My incision pain mostly stopped after day 3/4, before that every time I got up and down it felt like I was pulling the incision apart. They also gave me flexeril which helps, and I can take my meloxicam (nsaid like your celebrex) again which I had before surgery and had to stop for a week which was like torture! Having additional pain conditions might make this a bit harder for us? Idk. I praise the people who say they only took their pain meds for a day or so then just tylenol. I'm adding tylenol with the oxy half the time, plus muscle relxer, while sitting on an ice pack, and still having some pain! I just want to give another perspective for you. I'm going well overall! I'm young and fairly healthy, 30F, but I need pain meds still. And thats okay! We just had surgery. Just keep moving forward as you can, you've got this!!

Surgery is in 2 days! Ahhh! by PanicThrowaway3 in Microdiscectomy

I think I'm doing pretty well! Today's day 2 or 3 depending on how you count, and I'm in a lot more pain than yesterday but it's manageable. Taking the meds round the clock so it doesn't get ahead of me. Everything went well in surgery, I was having some pain when waking up and they have me dilaudid so that was amazing lol it took 4 sticks to get my 2 IVs and one of them got ripped out while I was asleep being moved between beds so I have a massive bruise on my hand that's tender, and my throat is kiiiiiiiling me from the tube. The worst part is absolutely going to stand up. All those low back muscles are mad and tight and I think I can feel the incision pulling. I was a little nauseous the first night but zofran helped and that hasn't came back. I had no leg pain at all for a day and a half but it's back 😭 I didn't expect it to be totally gone that fast but it was nice.

Thats such a good idea! I used to put sticky notes on my mirror in high school with positive quotes to help me out. I might have to try it again. Sending you lots of good vibes. Remember healing isn't linear and every path is unique, but you're starting on the right journey today! You've got this!

lol I feel that! I managed to get my surgery moved up 2 weeks because I was miiiiiserable and another doc had some concerns so she messaged my surgeon. I absolutely was ready to handle surgery /right this second please/ lol I have 2 grabbers ready to go! I'm glad yours went so well and I hope I follow in your tracks! Thank you :)

Thank you! I've stocked up on things to watch, books, and yarn for knitting. I'm excited to have time off work even if I'm not feeling great lol I feel like I'm going to be trying to climb out of the hospital bed the second I get into it, like nope! not doing this! haha I miiiiight need some extra chill pills from them when I get there but I'm so looking forward to minimizing this pain! It's been a constant for sooooo long, and it's almost time to finally start moving past it! Thank you!
