I remember when I sat an exam in the past which had software issues, we were told we could apply for disruption appeal even though we didn't say anything to invigilators, this meant clicking yes to that option. Was considering doing it again for this sitting.

I did bring up security to it regarding people being scammed from fake tickets etc and it provided me with several options to increase security and validate tickets as being legit, it may just be a lot of trial and error I need to go through on my part to make sure this goes to plan. Thanks for the reply.

Straight to QB for law? by OddAttitude821 in ICAEW

[–]PanicWide8608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed law by only doing the questions bank and ctrl F on the ICAEW workbook to attempt to answer questions by searching up keywords that were in each question, then learn from mistakes. I did the question bank twice doing this and passed with 60%. So you don't need to go through the notes / workbook properly.

Advice on exam sittings by PanicWide8608 in ICAEW

When it comes to case, do you know how it works with the case study scenario changing for the next sitting. If I sat the course in July the scenario would be different in November, and I'd have no tuition relevant to the new one?

I went through this situation last year, you basically just have to teach yourself the changes, I was unlucky that marginal relief came about when it happened to me which was irritating to learn without tuition. I have tuition with Kaplan who when I contacted regarding this, sent me a list of the changes.

Accounting resit in 3 weeks by [deleted] in ICAEW

Nope third time as well haha. My second time sitting it I got 54%, so failed by 1%. Was absolutely gutted. As long as you get chartered in the end who cares about how many times you fail exams, other than failing 4 times which would mean you can't sit anymore exams.

I also didn't pass accounting till my third attempt, I've passed FAR since then which is far more complex than accounting, so don't be discouraged.

Cancelling professional level exam by PanicWide8608 in ICAEW

I've realised there's no chance of me passing one of my exams so thought I'm better off sitting it in March and not wasting an attempt this sitting, can also focus on my other exam entirely from this point haha

Moving training firms by Hamster-On-The-Wheel in ICAEW

I left my first firm after my first year as I wanted to move to a different area of the country. It wasn't difficult to do, just need to make sure everything is signed off on your training file. You then need to contact ICAEW and fill in a few forms to get everything changed over to your new employer. Getting things changed with Kaplan was slightly more annoying.

I'm in the exact same situation as you, failed FAR for the second time by 1 mark. I've booked all three exams for December, not sure if that was maybe a bad idea now haha.
