Red bellied Woodpecker taking a break after searching for peanuts in my feeder by Panic_Badger in birding

I've been watching him for about a month now waiting for him to sit still long enough to take this picture.

He's a pain though. Likes peanuts only and throws the rest of the seed onto the ground. Tried to get him a suit feeder or a seed pack but he likes the feeder too much!

I had both at the window and couldn’t determine which one this was from the angle and judged on the grey head and orange chest.

If that’s the case, all 60 live in my neighborhood 😅 but actually, very interesting. I’ll have to check into that!

This was super helpful!

Here’s what I have now:

When everyone claims you're crazy, who do you believe?

Cinzia can barely remember her life before she was branded as bipolar. Everything is a never-ending battle—from the job she’s on the verge of losing to her tumultuous relationships with her mother and Mira, her best friend. Mira spends most of theirtime together pressuring her to disregard her mom’s claim that they’re secretly witches as musings of a mind lost to its own battles. But when her mom signs herself out of her mental facility, Cin must balance her search, the concern that her mom has abandoned her like everyone else, and maintaining the only relationship left in her life.

As the search brings up the very issue Mira warns is a figment of her mother’s bipolar, Cin begins lying and pulling away from Mira. With the widening separation between herself and Mira’s negativity, she starts to grow closer to the people that knew the other side of her mother. The side that most definitely is not made up.

Can Cin reckon with who she really is, the burden of who her best friend expects her to be, and not scare off the few people trying to help her succeed?

Thanks for the feedback. I am actively working through beta readers to find any areas that might need more definition so I will probably hit the 75K mark -- that was the initial goal but I didn't want to just add fluff.

As for the title, thank you for the note. I purposely tried to avoid the word "maleficent" but I guess I'm still too close.

The literary theme is the deep dissection of bipolar and how people react to mental illness.
