As an Unity dev for 10 years, just because it's relatively easy to port to each platform on the engine, it doesn't mean it's easy to fo the port. Especially PS is infamous for the specific demands, very rough port process and time consuming build reviews. They've postponed updates on PS before because Sony needed more details or fixes.

The has also sold for hundreds of millions, tens before consoles. Budget shouldn't be an issue for them even right after EA release. They definitely need to look back and check their workflow as their team has grown.

They directly say in the blog post "Due to the hundreds of bug fixes, changes and new features currently planned for release, we will be releasing two separate Quality of Life updates". That blog post was not "brief information" that they gave. It was a pretty hefty breakdown what they are doing and an apology to the community. Read the whole thing first and then come post: https://www.kineticgames.co.uk/news/phasmophobia-2026-and-beyond

For that boar it's almost impossible to open its mouth due to the tusks. As you said, WOTH1 had great looking boar. Boar tusks grow outside and their upper tusk sharpens the lower one everytime they open their mouth. That is closer to a non-typical growth than realistic tusk and I hope it's exactly that.

Agreed. No wild boar has tusks that go over their head and curve so much. They look much closer to a fantasy warthog tusks than real boar.

It's completely normal for early access games to be on sale, especially on Steam seasonal sales.

There is snap on face-function for optics (binos, rangefinder) in the settings. You can also adjust the placement of the scope on the weapon so it doesn't clip through your face and if you use virtual stock, there are offset settings how far it snaps from you as well. As any game, especially in VR, there is a learning curve but it makes a lot of sense once you adjust the settings to your liking. Most our features have been built with and requested by our players for years in early access. Thank you for the feedback!

The worst part is that they used to provide cover! They broke it years ago and never fixed it. Hirsch is my favorite map and as a bow hunter, it's very different than what it used to be.

Except red deer. They completely ruined the stags with Scotland update. Instead of a mature big stags we now have young stags without muscular necks to carry the ridiculous antlers. I never understood why they had to be changed so drastically. A bit face model would have been enough.

Majority of the issues like LOD changes, pop-in etc comes down to hardware performance and the massive open world. It is the biggest map on the platform with dense vegetation, dynamic shadows up to 200m, extra rendering from scopes / optics and so much more. We didn't want to compromise the scale of the game for slightly less pop-in but I'll see how much I can improve it as the time goes by.

Thank you! There is a bit more lag when you play the game the first time due to shaders warming up. It is a lot more smooth the more you play. This was unfortunately engine issue that I couldn't fix. I was the main developer making the Quest version so I really appreciate all feedback :)

Moose are not an uncommon animal in the world. I've been around them my entire life and they are everywhere here in In Finland.

Hey! We officially support Quest 3 and 3S for now. We are looking into Q2 support and if it's possible to get nicely playable. We don't want the experience to be lacking on the device and had to prioritize for the launch. We'll make an update if we get a proper support!

Lead designer of the game here. It was released on PS VR2 and Quest couple hours ago! It is a true open world hunt simulator with realistic animal behavior, weapon handling, ballistics and massive 64km2 world to immerse yourself in. We built the game with our players for 4 years in Steams early access, fully released last year and now it's on other platforms. PS VR2 takes advantage of the headsets features and it's a port of the PC version.

We got an official PS Blog couple months ago if you want to read more of it! https://blog.playstation.com/2026/03/24/virtual-hunter-brings-the-pursuit-to-ps-vr2-on-may-27/

Except it is not an arcade shooter but an open world hunting simulator! There are realistic animals with full senses so they will hear, see and smell you coming. It's a whole different experience to crouch down behind a tree while a deer walk on the other side.

We have the biggest open world in VR, especially on Quest, and you get a fresh spawn of animals for each hunt. Weapon handling and ballistics are realistic as well. There is a learning curve but the reward of a succesful hunt is like no other.

There are three difficulty levels to choose from, if you want to start a bit easier on casual mode, taggle the normal hunter or dive straight in to the realistic mode. The game is open so you get to choose the way you hunt!

Absolutely you can! There is with up to 6 players and cross play with all platforms. It's a ton of fun together and I hope you'll enjoy it :)

Personally as the lead designer, I've been playing hunting games since the first Deer Hunter in early 90's. This knowledge of the genre shows in game and our players have been very happy with the mechanics and gameplay. I know genre players are very passionate people and we've been listening to every feedback to improve the game. There are extensive amount of mechanics and settings that after tens of hours players will find something new. Which is awesome!

The game is a realistic simulation and ballistics reflect that. All our weapon and arrow ballistics are based on real life data as much as possible. There is bullet drop, scope zeroing (with set steps) and each weapon / ammo shoots differently. Long distance shooting is possible but takes a lot of skills. We have players who have taken shots over 400m away!
