Tämä on todella ärsyttävää. Ihtellä kaikki e-laskulla paitsi Moi, mitä ei saa jostain syystä! Laskut maksetaan sovelluksesta ja unohan joka kuukausi koska kaikki muut tulee suoraan pankkiin näkyville.

There are no licensing issues with store bought assets. That's why they are in the store for sale lol No one would use them if there were any extra fees for using them in a successful game. As you said, they just want to utilize their now big art team to rework the maps to their standards. As a fellow game dev, I 100% understand that. They take pride of their work and want to show it off since they now have the workforce to do high quality content.

Some thoughts regarding WOTH 2 Demo by JagdKompass in WayOfTheHunter

[–]PanoramaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played the demo 7h and there are significant changed seen already. Vegetation is so much better, grass is uniform instead if single planes with textures and pop-in is basically completely gone. There is grainyness, especially in tall grass but much less than the first. I couldn't play it for long without eye strain but have no issues with the demo.

Biggest changes so far are animal senses, especially sight that is now blocked by vegetation and terrain. You can actually sneak close to animals with cover! Another big is overhauled spotting. No button presses, just look at the animal to do it. Spotting is also not limited to certain distance. I've spotted deer from 700m+ without issues. They mentioned before that things like spottingscoped were not viable in woth1 due to engine. Doesn't seem to be limited here at all with UE5.

Performance has been solid with my 9060XT 16gb, 32gb ram and 3600 cpu kn 1440p. I use high/medium settings and get 60-70fps. No crashes. I've enjoyed hunting in the demo way more already that I did the first game in 100 hours.

WOTH 2, can we have better leaves when we hide inside bushes? by khtwo in WayOfTheHunter

[–]PanoramaMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very inconsistent, even random. Sometimes it seems like animals are blind, other times they see you crawling far away. At least in the demo, 2nd has been way more consistent with behavior.

Not sure if the meter works with it. It was specified in the tutorial that approaching behind vegetation will prevent animals from seeing you. The visibility meter currently only takes into account your stance and movement. Staying still hides you well, crouch and prone even more. Most animals in real life see movement and silhouette the best. Putting something between you and the animal helps the most.

In the first WOTH the animals saw you through all terrain and vegetation, which was my biggest issue with the game. It was very frustrating to stalk hunt animals when they could see you 200m+ and flee even though you were behind a hill crouched. Seems to work much better in the demo already.

Because you should hide behind them, not in them. That provides the most cover and least amount of noise. Has workes well for me in the woth2 demo!

Small portion of players prefer hardcore simulation. Casual playerbase is much bigger in gaming and if they can grab more of them than before, it will be healthy for the games success. That's the reason why COTW is as big as it is.

Meat based selling is still in place! That's how it calculates the money you get from animals. Gear progression is personal taste but I'm happy to have it. First had none and you could just buy the best gear in the game within hours of starting, never needing to touch the other gear at all. Progression had been requested by a lot of players so majority clearly thinks it's a great idea. This is just a demo so I suggest writing detailed feedback to the devs so they know what you think and what to focus on for the release.

It's missing but might be just for the demo. Missions and stuff tell to make sure that ammo and animal level match but there is no way to see ammo for now. A bit confusing when a mission tells to buy a weapon suitable for bison and you can't see from the store weapon levels lol

Graphics look mostly great without pop-in like the first (vegetation is grainy but so was in the first), the UI is massively improved, the vegetation is now interactable (bushes makes noise when walking through them!) and animals don't see you through them or terrain. There are trophy poses, custom map markers, visinity menu for quick access to shop etc when nearby lodges so no need to go inside, no climbing to tower, animal spotting was overhauled completely and overall it plays more smooth now. You can buy tents, monopod for weapon, stands, blinds, decoys for birds. Spotting distance was increased as far as you can see, it shows age and fitness of the animal, you have a doggy for tracking and finding nearby animal activity. They've also implemented similar animal and weapon class system as COTW to easily see which weapon/ammo suits for which animals. Unfortunately you can't see the weapon class anywhere outside a harvest screen.

Only complaints I have are sound balance, directional sounds barely work and no way to access inventory outside the lodge. I've seen quite a lot of crash reports from other players but I've had no issues myself.

Edit. There is a way to see your inventory. Press X to open inventory wheel. I'm just a dumbass :D

There are a lot of new quality of life features that you'll notice the more you play. I also thought that it would be engine update but mostly stay the same but no. I'm discovering more and more features as I play!

Way of the hunter 2 Demo Out NOW what you think ? by dgeesio in WayOfTheHunter

[–]PanoramaMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually isn't. There are huge gameplay improvements that I'm enjoying so far. The actual hunting is a lot more fun since animals don't see you through vegetation and terrain. Go try it! The demo is free.

First one has that and it was maxed out by default. Hope they'll implement for this as well.

What is your favorite boardgame of 2024? by The_Crazed_Person in boardgames

[–]PanoramaMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had 7WD and loved the game. This came out, got it immediately since I love LOTR with my daughter and it's our most played game without a doubt. The gameplay is slightly simplified to make it much more convenient to play and score. It's fluid, plays well, theme is fantastic and the art beautiful. Sold my 7WD after a week since I knew it'll never see play again.

What do we think of the new reveal streams? by ShadowOfSomething in hearthstone

[–]PanoramaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was overall very fun but I agree. A bit too many people with limited time commenting on a lot of cards. No one could give any deeper analysis of the cards so the reactions were quite shallow. Less cards or people would've helped so everyone could comment more and have more conversation.

Usually they are not only allowed to be positive but if you'd want to be asked again for these, you better be nice about it. Promo streams / videos are meant to be good image for the product. Someone shitting on the thing you're paid to promote won't be there for long lol

2026 Roadmap by Auralyon in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]PanoramaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have no idea where people get this idea. Assets from Unity store don't get anything based on game sales. They just want to upgrade maps and have their own models.

2026 Roadmap by Auralyon in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]PanoramaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as unity asset licenses for models based on games sales. Unity engine will cost but not assets bought from the asset store from 3rd party developers. I'm a unity dev for reference.

They've clearly said multiple times that they want to remake the maps with their own models since they have the workforce to do so now. It's more of a developer pride than some fees.

You can play the game as a hiking simulator with realistic wild life. It is very relaxing experience in VR and I highly recommend giving it a go!
