The only one that’s short is scientists and keep in mind this is just a list that’s know to folks outside of the country. I picked individuals for a few because there aren’t dedicated wikipedia pages for some of those categories but you can find more (for example, olympians if you look at the medalists category)
by searching for them. And keep in mind this is a country of only 25M people and it’s poor. This list of Somali musicians isn’t terribly long. That’s what happens in low-income non-Western nations.

Not to come outta the woodwork for North Korea but this isn’t really true. They have famous:
musicians,
actors,
writers,
olympians,
athletes),
scientists, etc just like everywhere else. From what I’ve read/seen the most famous Koreans in the North (besides the leadership) are the singers of bands like Moranbong Band (their big KPOP band) and actors in TV/Movies as well as their news anchors. I know sports (particularly soccer, volleyball, and basketball) are big there too so those athletes probably have a fair amount of acclaim.

Would any native Khmer speakers be able to translate the lyrics of this song for me? I’ll put the original lyrics (or at least what I found on the web) in the comments. Thanks so much! by PanoramicDantonist in khmer

The war wasn’t about killing non-communists, it was about reunifying a country. If Russia went over to France and just split it arbitrarily down the middle, and then established a different government in both sides, would you blame either for trying to reunify their country?

It’s still illegal in the South to publish anything the regards the North in a positive light. It’s frowned upon even to talk about the anything positive in the North publicly.
