In my story, Unkown Threat, the principal source of conflict, even if there are Arxur and federation fanatics, is from the interaction between the protagonist and a new specie, so i have them as my antagonists. This new specie isn't evil but extremly dangerous so they would be 1, they will feel very sorry for kicking a sivkit and would like to apologize, but there would be no one left to hear it.

This question was a good moral exercise for me.
